I figured we’d be reacting to AJ Johnson scoring 20 in the same game. On one hand it’s a game between AJ and Timme, so someone has to score. But damn.

It's believable that Timme developed his offense into a modern NBA big, but I still don't know who he's gonna guard.

We should already be freaking out about AJ a few games ago

No one. That's who he'll guard.

If he gets lucky he'll be Frank Kaminsky.

AJJ might be a different story.

Giving up AJJ in a trade that sent out Middleton for **** Kuzma is pure Horst. He has lit so many draft picks on fire. When it looks like he finally hit someone with potential, he includes him in a trade for a mediocre player like Kuzma.

The Wizards have to be ecstatic having picked him up.

I'd much rather just have broken down Midds and AJJ at this point.

This easily AJJ is going to be the best player of this trade you don’t trade a 1st round pick who just turned 20 with huge upside for kuzma. Horst needs to be fired for this alone and Doc can go with him

AJJ is now shooting better from three than Kuz. Good morning.

Bud was the rudder of common sense over the personnel decisions. Plausible Doc screamed ‘win now’ damn the future to get this deal done.

From the owners/GM perspective the bigger pressure was to get $12 million off the payroll next year to save on luxury tax and apron issues.

We’re back to the Kohl years as far as decision making process. Only difference is we have a superstar on the roster but no real draft picks for five years.

There's a longer clip on house of highlights YouTube. Shows a few plays prior to fight. Definitely think it started to perlocate when Beef tried a floater and someone on Timberwolves loudly yelled "F#@K NO" like four times as Beef bricked it and several putbacks. Hilarious. Then Beef got chippy and then the fight happened.

Lakers fans drooling at the thought of Giannis somehow becoming a Laker next. Not like he said he would never ask to be traded a few months ago and they'd have to "kick him out". I hate NBA fans. "Well Luka happened so you can't say it's crazy!" Um... yes we can. Not every GM is a braindead/corrupt POS like Nico. Horst might be braindead, but I don't think even he's that dumb.

Never been less enthused leading into a playoff season where there's fairly relative parity and it's feasible for many teams to make a run. I said if we make it the second round and bow out in a dog fight of a 7-game series against Boston, Cleveland or New York that's pretty decent. Now I'm almost to the point where winning a first-round series would be successful.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS

Happy Zach Lowe will be back with the ringer. I still enjoyed him occasionally, but it was tough to listen to him when his guests were just the crappy espn talking heads

Ok yeah, the Grizzlies are morons:

"This decision to do it now and to move on from LaRoche, and to lean back into all the pick and roll stuff... this was a decision that was about optimizing Ja Morant," said Tim MacMahon. "That was a primary motivator for this decision.

"I was texting with a GM after this happened and he said 'I would have told you I thought they were definitely going to [shop him]. Ja was out on them. They won games without him. They have to be sustainable.' And he said 'This is a move that goes in the face of that.'

Basically this is a "Hey Ja, you're still our guy. Everything we do is going to be based on what's best for you. What optimizes you. They got away from that for a lot of this season and they're leaning back hard into it."

And all the coach did was *checks notes*, drag that Grizz roster to a Top-6 offense that apparently "wasn't good enough" for Ja's ego. We need to poach Jenkins asap.

I’d like to think Giannis having worked with him before would make it easy enough to get him on board, too.

We should poach Jenkins, and while we’re at it, also bring in the player who probably benefitted most from his coaching: Bane.
