Ersan for Wiz's TPE and there is your cap room.

Bingo!

LUKE23 wrote:Yeah, the Ersan comments are troubling. Just don't see how they are going to make it work. I am guessing Middleton plays a lot of SG, but even then, you have Giannis, Parker, Sanders, Henson who you obviously want getting big minutes in the frontcourt to see what they have. That doesn't even count Ilyasova, Inglis, Pachulia, O'Bryant, Delfino. And we always have a hard time not playing veterans. Maybe that changes under Kidd. Still, I hope Ilyasova is traded and if possible, Pachulia and Delfino as well.

I agree with this for the most part but I also think that it might be a mistake to think Henson will/should see big minutes to "see what he has"... There's been a couple coach's to come through now that haven't thought enough of Henson to give him big minutes to develop him or see "what he has". At this point I'm guessing that all they see in him is a potential bench player long term and don't think he can improve to be much more then he is right now and don't feel the extra minutes are going to be all that beneficial.

Either that or he has an ability to get into a coach's dog house without too many people knowing about it. It's just when your a young 1st rounder and multiple coach's don't think you deserve quality minutes then there's probably something more to it then what we've seen/heard.... Just sayin

Ersan and/or Henson will be traded. But not for the crap proposed on this board. Ersan is still considered one of the better all around stretch forwards in the league. Most GMs know his bad season was due to the ankle injury, which he never should have come back so soon from (although it helped get the second pick). They need to hold out even if it means starting the season with all these forwards. Ersan, if still on the team, will start. Parker can learn a lot from him. He's the consummate professional. It's really important that the team keep some of the veterans to teach the younger players how to play. Parker should, and probably will, start the season coming off the bench, but play 30 minutes a game. No problem trading Henson or Ersan-just get equal value. Man, does this board undervalue Knight and Ersan.

It'll be really interesting to see who wants him, where he wants to go (does he try to go to a Euroleague team or something with a bit shallower learning curve?), what he gets, and of course how he performs.

Early word was that he could be headed to China.

As a huge Mudiay fan, this is disappointing. Working with a great basketball mind like Larry Brown and his crank really would've done wonders for him.

+1, I thought Brown would have done wonders with regards to him reigning it in a bit and learning to be more methodical for the position. Without that tutelage and a jump to China, I think that hurts his stock significantly.

Hopefully he does go to China. Greatly enhances our shot at landing him. Terrible move for him, though.

Why China? He'd be better off playing in the D-League than China

The D league has a per team salary cap of just under 180,000 which makes for contracts in the lower 20K area. Overseas the sky's the limit if you can get it. For a fresh out of high school player who is taking a risk they go where the money is. Unless you get caught mid season with nowhere to go like Hairston.

"Mudiay's camp is concerned of an ongoing NCAA investigation" The word Camp shouldn't be attached to a kid this young. They're the ones driving the bus and I'm sure deciding where he goes. Oh and Buses are expensive....
