I would do Jabari straight up for Cousins. Only because of the knee.

That would be the worst trade ever for us.

Really you must not like Cousins much. I probably wouldn't do it either but worst trade ever is a little extreme when your getting the arguably best center in the NBA.

They'd quickly move to #1 on must-watch League Pass list. The lulz would be amazing.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

Before losing his mind, Karl could probably make that lineup work for a season and a half.

Why can't we ever be the ones fleecing someone? Instead we give up picks for f*cking Vasquez and are falling over ourselves to max f*cking Monroe.

This makes me sad. I feel like we could have had both of them, given what they were traded for. And that's the exact type of offseason we should be having. Instead we're back to owning the future with middling vets. Ugh.

Honestly, I like Stauskas, but he's not a guy I'd be paying 27 million dollars to obtain.

1) No way he's the best center
2) I would rather have Ty Lawson than Cousins. So throwing Jabari in with him is insanity.

And they traded Isaiah Thomas for Darren Collinson and Ramon Sessions. They traded Sessions and now they are looking to pay another PG when they could've had Elfrid and IT, OR could've drafted Mudiay. Not to mention all of the coaching mess

And their clear best player hates the coach. The owner is nuts when it comes to owning a pro team.

At least we get to see Rudy Gay and Monta on the same team, along with an enraged Boogie when the losses continue and Karl benches him after he gets frustrated and walks back on defense during a Kings blowout loss.

The argument we need a low post scoring C when all 4 of our young guys plays in the post is stupid. Average NBA player, max contract, terrible fit. **** sucks when Hammonds has money to spend.

Saying all four of our young guys play in the post and acting as if they excel in that area is off base. A lot of the post ups were the product of the inability of anyone on our roster to go out and get easy buckets for the sake of just trying to get something going.

How is it that Hibbert fares in our defensive scheme, stepping out to defend the pick and roll, hedge, and recover? That's an area that exposes Hibbert to the nth degree, and basically just asks the team to give up easy bucket after easy bucket. If you have him sit in the paint, you lose the helter skelter style that allowed us to create so many turnovers all season long. Greg Monroe's understanding of positioning when defending the pick and roll is a far better fit in this system. The fact that Monroe shows solid hands on the defensive end in coming up with steals is an added bonus. You have to ask yourself how much Hibbert's rim protection truly improves this team at the expense of how our defense even operates. With an elite defense with Zaza Pachulia on the floor, I want to know if you think our defense devolves with Monroe on the floor instead. I don't think it'll matter much. Repeating the notion that Monroe is an "underwhelming" defender isn't accurate at this point. He's average, possibly even slightly above, he's just not the sexy swat your shot defender.

In my opinion, the biggest way our defense ACTUALLY improves is us being able to limit the second opportunities we gave up so often last season. This is another area in which Monroe is substantially better than Hibbert. There's really no denying this.

Monroe is substantially more dangerous on the block given the rate he scores and his ability to get to the free throw line through drawing help and picking up fouls. While both he and Hibbert are good passers (though Monroe has the edge), Monroe's advantage in this area should provide him more opportunities to create easy looks for his teammates, while also opening up the floor once the double comes.

Hibbert does have a discernible advantage when it comes to his ability to step outside and hit the midrange jumper, but how much does that really open up our offense when Hibbert isn't exactly a guy you want to step out and launch from 15 feet out? It's a skill that I think is more of a luxury than a complete necessity. As other posters have stated, the ceiling of this team depends on the jumpshot development of our other young guys.

For every, "too much usage, no range, bad defender" comment there's a "slow, plodding, no rebounding, head case" comment to offset it. Hibbert strengthens strengths (again to what degree) while Monroe makes us more well rounded and versatile, giving us a skill set we currently have no semblance of. With Henson off the bench as a change of pace 5, it makes the fit look even better.

There's a great chance we have two guys better in the post than Monroe as soon as this season. If it takes two seasons who gives a ****? He's not a great post scorer he's just a volume one. I mean I'm impressed that you type out that volume that quick but talking your way around Monroe's D over Hibbert's is flat out hilarious. There isn't anything close to an argument that Monroe is a max guy, he's never shown any ability to make a difference. He's not even better than a guy Indiana would probably give away. Dat double/double though.

Cousins is the better asset. But I don't think he elevates us past a 45 win team. He just strikes me as a guy that is going to lose for his whole career unless he ends up on a superteam.

Lawson would mean replacing MCW and having our first real point guard in forever.

Yeah really frustrating especially when you have fans justifying the moves. We could have a ton of assets that could be turned into a all star any number of ways instead we are making many of the same mistakes made in the past.

Monroe is still a prospect if Henson is, so it is kind of owning the future. And he's far better than a "middling vet". He doesn't fit the past template of the past. Twice as good as any free agent signed under Kohl.

But I'm all over Smart too if he's still available after the draft. Wouldn't have to take on too much creating burden, would help Monroe dropping down to double team, increase deflections for fast breaks, his jumper was respectable last season, and he has the form to keep improving. Much better fit with Monroe/Giannis/Parker than MCW for those reasons. Vonleh and Stauskas are 10 times less interesting players than Monroe.

I think in my heart Jabari ends up being better than both of those guys, but my head tells me that if you have a chance to unload a guy who just had a potentially career changing injury for an all-star center, you do it.
