Silver has been an excellent commissioner, but it's a shame that all of a sudden he's shocked, shocked, that pre-free-agency discussions occur.

Image

The NBA ecosystem is like a bunch of medieval duchies, with shifting alliances, shoe companies and agents whispering behind the arras, and of course players like LeBron wheeling and dealing with impunity.

All of which is no big deal as far as I'm concerned, but if you connive at the way things are, it seems hypocritical to come down on a small-market team for a technical violation.

No idea. They say he has a team and its not Milwaukee but then go on to make it sesm like they have no idea who that team is.. so how could they know he has a team then?

I wont be surprised no matter what happens.

It's not in shambles. However, I don't think this team was a title winner before any of these moves, I certainly don't think acquiring Holiday makes us one and there are very few moves I can see being made that name us any sort of favorite.

So we overpaid for Jrue so much that we didnt have enough left to get BB both salary and asset wise? Wow, just wow. I didnt think an NBA team could be this stupid and yet here we are. If that is true, we need to fire horst or whoever made that decision. Bein a Bucks fan is like being in an abusive relationship. I almost want to blow it up so I can not care about basketball until 2028, the year after our picks stop conveying to NO.

This is all an elaborate rouse, we'll still get Bogdan. *repeating to myself, rocking back and forth while clutching my knees.*

I like Bogdan but admittedly not as much as some here. I think that if the difference between Donte and Bogdan is the difference between not being the favorite and being the favorite, then what is being the favorite really worth?

The important thing here, imo, is the relationship between Giannis and Bogdan and how Giannis perceives this whole thing. In his eyes, did we **** this up, or did we just get screwed?

Only 1 solution to solve all our headaches. Giannis...please sign the supermax. I can look past everything if Giannis just signs. Please....

I am not at all bummed that Donte is staying, he’s played what has amounted to roughly 1 full season and has shown considerable growth. I think a lot of people forget just how good Donte was pre bubble....and a lot of players struggled in the bubble. Donte really needs to concentrate on improving his handle more than anything. If I’m Donte I tell this organization you want15 points, 3.5 assistts, 3.5 rebounds? Done, and then he needs to come back with a far more aggressive offensive mind set, he now knows this is a business and he’s more than capable of hitting Bogdanovic numbers from last year.

My issue isn’t with Donte at all, it is with the blatant incompetence of this organization, if I’m Giannis I wouldn’t sign with this team early, that is for sure.

To be fair, boondoggle is a wonderful descriptor for this ****.

So in the end it sounds like Bogdanovic wanted more $. I'm fine getting Holiday over him. They have room to get vet guys and be better than last year. The doom and gloom is sickening. And don't call me Alex Lasry. Just take a deep breath and let it play out. Holiday, Middleton, Giannis so called big 3 is way better than what we had. An aging George Hill will be replaced very quickly.

Exactly. It's not Donte vs. Bogdan that's the problem. It's how shambolic this makes us look. It's a process problem.

It's not in shambles. However, I don't think this team was a title winner before any of these moves, I certainly don't think acquiring Holiday makes us one and there are very few moves I can see being made that name us any sort of favorite.

I think the biggest difference between this offseason and the last one is that we've basically given up on our coach and current starters making the required adjustments to win in the playoffs. Its really sad that a team on its way to win 70 games during the regular season needs so much more superstar or semi-star depth to compete in the playoffs. Bud not making any adjustments against the wall, the bench sucking, Giannis not improving his outside and FT shooting, Middleton being Middleton, etc. have really messed with our psyche.

Agree with you, but the biggest difference is Donte is 5 years younger and has only played about 1 full season....this organization is a sh** show and as I said in my previous post, I wouldn’t sign early if I’m Giannis.

FWIW, I don't think Bogdan solved all of our issues, but I certainly think he's far better than Donte is currently.

With him I was concerned about lack of depth.

He's a better fit because he balances the floor with his range. But there's another end of the floor.

Try to get Kennard from the LAC. Absolutely should've tried to get into that deal when it was obvious the Bogdan deal fell apart.

Were the Bucks not the favorite last year?

So you are saying that losing Bledsoe, Hill and Ersan has hurt them as a possible favorite? Isn't Jrue an upgrade?

I tried this once. Don't waste your time.

Also curious how he had the second-best net rating in the entire NBA for rotation regulars for most of the season. Like, if it's because it's so easy to play with Giannis and some of the other starters on the Bucks, shouldn't the other starters have a better rating than DDV?

^^^I tried that before too and I have no idea why I think it will work now.

It's too late for this now. He should have been the original target.
