Been there done that

Their takes aren't worth reading simply because they're too fanatical ( there's a diff b/n being a fan and being a fanatic). I like the raptors board because they're a lot more knowledgeable, funny, and pessimistic which again is funny.

I think our board is getting that way with so many predicting Bucks in 5; the things that concern me are Hayward returning to form, the voodoo that Terry Rozier may have on Bledsoe, and they were by some numbers like scoring margin the 2nd or 3rd best team in the East, so that made them better than their record, poor performance against +.500 teams be darned.

In Sean Devaney’s prediction he picked bucks in 7 but talked about how Lopez is averaging 5 points in the 3 Celtics games this year. I’m really worried they will play him off the court. Sure we’ve won games with Brook doing nothing offensively but he brings so much to the interior defense and setting guys up for rebounds. Just worried they are going to play one of our linchpins off the court.

Think we are going to see a ton of Ersan/Niko in this series

They didn't play him off the court, he just wasn't needed. Lopez for us is a big shot blocker/rim protector and rebound facilitator with his box outs. But Boston is one of the teams with the lowest amount of drives in the League, and mid to low offensive rebounds. Their whole offense revolves around the mid-long range and the 3, that's where they live. They move the ball a lot and they pretend to start a drive from the 3pt line but they rarely finish it, most of the time they just kick it out again and again until they find an open shot. There's just not much work to be done in the paint for the defense and Giannis can usually handle most of it by himself.

Lopez will play because in offense he's (basically) another shooting guard at the 3 pt line keeping the lanes open for Giannis/Bled/Mids. Especially since he usually draws Horford out there. But as soon as he gets winded on defense chasing Boston's drive and kick merry go round Bud pulls him and a fresh body comes in. Mirotic or Ersan are both plenty tall for this kind of Boston offense.

Not denying his importance to this team but he did have a zero net rating across the three games so it's definitely a matchup to keep an eye on.

Lopez can definitely be played off the floor by Boston. He will keep giving open 3s to Horford and if he starts hitting them you have to bench him and put someone more mobile in.Especially if he can't find open shots on offense or his shot isn't falling.

One thing that worries me is Bledsoe getting into a pissing match with Rozier.I hope he is smarter this year.He needs to focus on defending Kyrie and taking what the defense is giving him on offense.Don't go hero ball on Rozier and start taking dumb shots.

The amount of **** talking on the GB thread is just incredible hahaha. And the Raps/Sixers thread is heading that way quickly too. Two fanbases on here are gonna get clowned mercilessly this entire summer lol.

We better win it all this year because the road will likely get tougher next year.

The Celtics are the only one of the top 4 east teams that didn't make a big move at the trade deadline, because they want to keep their assets to get Anthony Davis next year. We should have enough talent and coaching to win this series. Then, luckily, Toronto or Philly will have to lose to the other and we would probably have a 7 game series with the other. Get to the finals this year and there's a chance to win it now with Cousins out!

Next year things look rough. Durant and AD probably coming East to team up with a second all-star is tough considering we are less likely to have a major upgrade in talent. We will lose some of our good to border-line all-star free agents (Brogdon, Lopez, Mirotic, Middleton - yes I know he actually was an all-star but come on) and we won't have enough to sign a 2nd superstar to team with Giannis anyways so Giannis and Bledsoe will still be our 2 best players. Does that beat AD/Kyrie or Durant/Kyrie? Hard to get out of the East next year.

If we re-sign Middleton, do we ever give Giannis a 2nd superstar to play with before he leaves to play with one? I think we're better off trying to get the best discounts possible on all the others: Brogdon, Lopez, Mirotic on short deals and they - along with Sterling, Snell, D.J. and Donte are all tradeable on their contracts can maybe be packaged for a disgruntled superstar. I don't think many teams want borderline all-stars on 4/5 year deals so we'd be imprisoned.

Here's a list of guys who played at least 6MPG in the playoffs for the Bucks during the last 7 game series:

Jabari Parker
Tony Snell
Thon Maker
Matthew Dellavedova
John Henson
Tyler Zeller
Jason Terry

I mean.... damn.

This can't be true. I kept being told the Bucks are the same team except for Bud and Lopez

I think you're overthinking things. Durant going to the East will obviously make it tougher, but the Bucks are going to get better next year and I wouldn't rule out a big splash move in the offseason.

I’m not worried about Bled if he plays against Kyrie (or Lowry). He’ll focus on defense first. Against Rozier (or van Vliet) he is worse, but we can put someone else on them.
I’m only worried about Giannis with foul trouble and bad FT shooting and crazy high 3P% from C’s.
I think every game Bucks > .300 and Celtics < .400 from 3 is a Bucks win.

Boston fans need to just go back to nuzzling Tom Brady's nutsack, since the Bruins, Red Sox, and Celts, will all be pretty much toast 3 weeks from now.

I'd like to see DJ get some burn on Horford, and take his full complement of 6 fouls if needed. He's got the quickness and size to be effective. This series will show us if he has the game to handle that. Same thing with Sterling vs. Irving....
Brogdon being available would be another swing in the Bucks favor.

Ersan, Hill, Lopez, 3-cola, Patty C, is so much better than what the Bucks rolled out there last year, and that's not even counting the Bucks being coached by whatever was left of Kidd's staff.....

I'd be worried about Lopez if we didn't have other options. He'll play less mins I think and we'll go "small" with Giannis a bit more otherwise our defense plays into what they want. Would force Horford onto quicker guys too. Maybe bring in Wilson for some minutes if Bud trusts him and we want some quickness on defense.

I'd be shocked if Bledsoe isn't hounding Irving all game. I think Sterling gets matched up on Tatum

Would bet Bud trusts Ersan more than we'd like. Hopefully he's up for it.
