I’m convinced we should’ve locked down Jock to a max contract.

You can't stop Delly. If you're Canadian. And actually playing at the World Cup.

The Bucks put up a nice online guide to where/when Bucks are playing

https://www.nba.com/bucks/features/2019-fiba-basketball-world-cup-guide

Really not a fan of us having five guys over there, including three starters.

Nope and they are going to be super physical with Giannis. Lets hope for some good luck.

Giannis already putting on a show. :)

I expect every good team to use the same strategy as the Raptors against Giannis, forming a wall at the top of the key to stop him from driving,so at the very least he will get more practise against it.

Is it just me or has Delly changed his jumpshot technique quite noticeably?

Has anyone found a good way to watch the game? The idiotic Greek channels aren't showing the game (here in the US at least).

Found it. Greece has some good, surly veterans. Thanasis' energy is hilarious he had three fouls in a span of five minutes.

Papayiannis is hilarious.

We'll just have to rely on the young legs of ...*checks notes*... Wes Matthews and Kyle Korver in Jan/Feb/March.

Yep- looks like a more traditional/straightened up form, and the release looks a bit quicker (no wind up to cock it behind his head). 6/10 from 3 isn't a bad start.

Best performance we’ve seen by far from Middleton in their win over the fearless Czech’s. Looked more comfortable, slowed down and got some quality shots to go in. Still threw a few grotesque passes.

Brook looks slower to me. Hopefully it’s just Disney World weight.

If even half of Canada’s NBA guy’s ever decide to play they’d be a real threat under Nick Nurse.

Too many really bad teams in the group stages. Shame it’s never actually the best countries. Latvia, Slovenia, Croatia and Finland are all way better than a bunch of these teams. The qualifying system is broke.

It's not broken though, it's about participation and not about competition. That kid watching in Senegal is more important to them than making sure the best team wins or they make money or they grow faster than some other league. It kinda sucks for basketball nerds like us, but we're probably not the target audience.

Thats one explanation. The other equally possible explanation is that FIBA sucks and they've simply fkd up the qualifying system :D

Croatia lost to **** Romania, Netherlands and Lithuania's B team, they can't blame anyone but themselves. Latvia was extremely unlucky, while Slovenia with its lack of non-NBA and EL depth was the real victim of the qualification process.
I agree that these qualifiers should be abolished or at least modified, and 32 teams is too many for basketball.
