Re: OT: TV and Movies (With Spoilers)
I agree with everyone that season 1 of PnR was them getting their feet wet. It gets really good after that and totally worth going back to.
In the same vein, I was just scrolling looking for something dumb to have on in the background yesterday and came to Superstore. I vaguely remember ads for it but don't know anyone who's watched. Maybe 6-8 episodes in so far and I'd recommend it, it's surprisingly good and I've legit laughed several times, which is rare for me. It's the same workplace comedy mold as OFfice, PnR, Brooklyn 99 and its good. Not some ground breaking thing but if you just want a nice fun easy comedy that you haven't seen before I'd give it a hot

Just watched serenity on prime. Wtf was that? I guess the idea was kind of good, but the genius kids video game had his dad screwing a woman to pay for his fishing boat and had his dad dripping wet screwing his mom? What a weird movie

Patriot is awesome, just finished first season and can't wait to dig into the 2nd. Finished Hunters a few days ago as well, I liked it. Wife can't get past the whacky timeline.

Better Call Saul has taken it up a notch.
I think it's safe to say Kim Wexler is now the biggest bad ass in the Breaking Bad universe.

Good episode. Sad there's only one left this year. And then only one more season.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Westworld has been super fun this season even if the story might be difficult to comprehend at times. I also love how Ramin bit the BR 2049 sound for his score.

That's exactly what they were trying to do. Michael Schur, the creator of Parks & Rec, who was also a producer and writer of The Office, said that he and the co-creator thought it would be a fun idea to make a public sector version of The Office.
Of course, it expanded way beyond that and developed its own little universe.

That's the whole point of his character. He is the one who remains logical and stoic (with some exceptions) while everything around him is spinning out of control.
This role is a little above and beyond, but Bateman has said that he enjoys playing ordinary guys who get put into extraordinary circumstances. Though these circumstances were his character's own doing, that's basically what's happening in Ozark. The character is specifically written not to freak out, but instead to plan and stay steady.

Right, and I just don't think that's at all believable.

Also co-signing PnR. It's a Mt Rushmore comedy for me.

I watched the first episode of Ozark and while I thought it was basically good, is it all this grim? Will any characters be introduced who are not the absolute worst? Just not sure if I'm up for this ride right now.

You don't watch Ozark, or virtually every other show, because it's believable.

Re: OT: TV and Movies (With Spoilers)
The most unbelievable part of Ozark isn't that a guy that smart can stay steady in those moments, heck people do that in real life all the time. since this was a discussion on the acting, there is facial stuff and timing of his quick comments and he does have the occasional lash out moment. There is acting in it even though he's quiet.
The most unbelievable part is that someone that smart and that calculated would not just take the easy out with the deal offered from the govt. Boom, show over. It's one thing to start a racket like that when no one knows who you are(think Walt on BB) but to do it while you know the feds are watching you specifically is just stupid. Once you get past that hole the show is great though.

This is my issue with the show. I have no idea who I'm supposed to root for. Ruth I guess? They are all morally depraved. I still enjoy it but to me this is the big flaw.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

I don't root for anyone in the show, but Ruth is incredible and makes the show worth watching to me.

Better Call Saul is my favorite show on TV right now. This last episode was so outstanding. I just wish that there were another 5-6 episodes left in the season instead of only one.

With just one more season to go I wonder if they will wrap up the Omaha story line at all or if Gilligan is planning a movie to wrap up the Saul/Gene Takovic character. There will be 13 episodes in the final season so maybe they will do more with Omaha. When it finishes it will have one more (63) episode than Breaking Bad.

I understand this take but I loved The Office more so I disagree with ya.
Parks and Rec is better than both, so sucks to be wrong.
As far as the sitcoms go, the quarantine has led me to finally give Brooklyn Nine-Nine a try and I'm so happy I did. I haven't watched 30 Rock but Parks & Rec and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are significantly better than The Office to me. New Girl put up a good fight for me as well but it's behind those.
In particular, there should be a compilation somewhere of solely the opening scenes of each Brooklyn episode. They're almost all incredible.
Edit: Looks like YouTube has that covered.
