They do lack talent at certain positions, portis didn’t play I am guessing because he’s sucked in the series but if they built a better team you play Giannis at the 5 and have and athletic 6’8” - 6’10” guy who score a little play some D and not let f’ing Jeff Green beat you….he’s the guy who beat you in the end.

And Bucks fans should be allowed to say that. Being a fan shouldn't mean blind loyalty. I just want to see them play up to their ability, or at least close to it. I'm a mastery oriented person in life and I like to let results take care of themselves. The core of this team hasn't shown any progress or growth for years. They're still trying to just get back to the level they played at in the 2019 ECF, and even that was a big-time choke job.

I'll be interested to see how Barkley handles the Bucks taking him for a ride the same way they've done with us for 3 years. This is different from other WI sports heartbreak. It's not just disappointing, but kind of toxic.

yep to aII of it... i especiaIIy Iike the word toxic.

I still think there's a chance the bucks pull the series out tbh. Lol

Giannis should have caught the pass of course, but also Khris should have taken the layup.

Jeff Green left his feet, Middleton made the right play. Giannis just duffed it. That's an absolute dunk if he catches it clean.

Brook camped in the corner while Durant was guarding him was peak Bud though. That alone should get Bud fired.

The story of the game is that we were up 74-57 in the middle of the 3rd quarter and the Nets looked completely cooked. Then we stopped running offensive sets, and let Durant cook Lopez about 4-5 times in a row without any adjustments or timeouts until they cut it to 7.

We can talk about the refs or about Durant going nuclear all we want but they aren't why we lost.

Giannis calling for the ball, and it appeared Pat was pointing and yelling to give it to Giannis. Jrue, with half a brain, is thinking it's a bad idea, giannis is going to go down the lane line a bowling ball and get a charge as he hesitates to pass it to Giannis. With no other options, he passes to Giannis predictably bowls someone over for a charge. Giannis trying to match Durant as a back and forth is really not smart. We somehow need to get a lot of smart players around Giannis to somehow try to balance out our stupidity. Maybe we can have average basketball IQ as a team.

Yup, the 2019 team that almost won it was really high bball IQ outside of Giannis/Bled. Mid is probably mid level, not bad not high. All the role players were high IQ vets who understood all the little things of ball movement and where to be on D. Unfortunately we stuck with Bled instead of Hill in game 3 and then the wall just killed GIannis and he couldn't do anything against it.

2019 was our chance we'll be kicking ourselves with for years. We're too deep into this roster and unlikely anything can be done unless a superstar demands to come here. Even if we got this injury gift from BKN I viewed Phil as a toss up (assuming Embiid is ok) and I expected to lose to all the remaining West teams

The amazing thing is some in the game thread were blaming Middleton for this.

Already has defender in the air. Dunk and possibly and 1. It's totally the right play.

I do finally see why people dislike Harden's game, though. When did shoving a defender off of you become legal? Dude will literally punch a guy in the chest and send them flying and not get it called on him. Crazy.

It just happens a little bit later in the season the past few years.

It's soul crushing that they lost. Kudos to KD. That was some amazing ****.

But tonight the officiating jumped the shark for me. In a game that they had given the Nets a good 12+ points if not more they called a game deciding call with 1:00 to go in a playoff game 5. The worst player on the floor by a sizable margin falls over after hooking a defender in legal guarding position. And the officials go to center court and say that it's a foul. If it is I can no longer abide this game. I've given up football and baseball and held on to basketball but that call and the dozens before it have me asking why I should be spending what time and money I have for this when it's not even reasonable equitably decided.

The NBA has become a joke. I almost knocked over my table when I saw that.

Harden clearly intentionally grabs Lopez’s arm then hooks his own arm over Brooks & somehow it’s a defensive foul.

This might be my last year watching this league. It’s even worse when they review it then double-down on a bad call.

Khris made the right play but in hindsight he shouldve took the shot and drew contact from Green who already had 5 fouls

DingleJerry wrote:Don't forget much of that KD stretch was them screening Brook onto KD and KD just cooking him every time. Seemed like he was laughing his was back down the court. With DDV I wonder if they could've then gone small.

For the Giannis/KD. Have to remember he had 4 fouls and is prone to charges at all time especially with guys like Blake/Jim Harden flopping/baiting nonstop.

Just don't play Brook and/or trap every ball screen and voila, the Nets don't get to get whatever shot they want every time down the floor. It's literally super basic stuff. Bud is just not a natural coach, it's like he picked up on a bunch of concepts working for a great organization, but he looks totally lost beyond obvious macro level strategy and in game just isn't good.

I don't think Giannis can guard KD really because they will just ball screen him and Giannis gets all hung up on those and then they've got whatever switch they want or Durant is walking into an easy pullup before the switch comes.

Terrible screener, bad decision maker, and just an overall bad halfcourt player. Him being a low iq player or just a choker I can live with, but man his development is the real issue.

this is the first year he didn't significantly improve.

What did he add last year?

improved rebounding for one. I didn't bother looking at the stats. maybe you should.
