He's a good passer and he's a willing passer, but he consistently passes late and off target way more than truly great passers do.

It's okay that he isn't the greatest at everything.

I actually think Giannis is more often than not a very accurate passer. He rarely misses the shooting pocket on his passes to open shooters, even at full speed or doing his wild passes.

Yeah, I think Giannis’ biggest issue as a passer is he needs to know where guys will be because he is often passing after putting his head down to drive to the hoop. But as long as the offense has a structure that allows him to know where guys are usually at, he is fairly accurate considering the position his body is in when making passes.

I didn't realize Wiggins was away from the team again for GS. I hope he's alright but we might've dodged one there not trading for him.

Yeah, I fully think Giannis is an incredible passer but the structure is mostly necessary. He isn't going to make some of those crazy Luka/Jokic passes that only they seem to have the vision for but he'll make almost equally as impressive passes given the speed/body position and nearby traffic he finds himself in. Plus, those baseball passes he's been making this season have been super unique and surprisingly accurate.

If Dame put up the kind of night Haliburton did tonight, the media would make a circus out if it. Crickets when it comes to one of the leagues new faces.

Dude has been ass for like 2 months lol. Literally averaging 15 ppg in the 2 months since our last matchup against them in early January.

Isn't he playing injured just to meet the 65 game threshhold for contractual purposes?

That injury looked legit and probably correlates with that pretty closely. Maybe rushed himself back. Don't recall if he can still make all nba (and the money for it) by forcing it, but maybe thats still in play. Either way, he likely should've stayed out longer than he did to be cautious with a young star. But who knows, they have expert doctors and I'm just an idiot on the internet. I'd have just fallen on the play it safe side

Didn't have much of a reason before but seems as though I won't have to tune into anymore Raptors games for a minute.

Long way to go, but while Boston has been really good this season, they absolutely can be had.

They did win the early January series championship against the Griff led Bucks. Congrats Hali. Hang the banner ****

They are loaded, but it comes down to health and top dog mentality. KP is very injury prone, and Horford is ancient. If the Bucks can secure the 2nd seed, how will those guys be looking deep in the playoffs?

Beyond that, I have a lot of faith in Giannis, Dame, and Midds stepping up in the playoffs. I really think Dame will find himself in the pressure cooker that is the playoffs with the Bucks. I know he's had a rough time with the move and his divorce, but the playoffs could be exactly what he needs to dial in on basketball. Travel time is reduced, and you know your opponent since you are playing them again potentially the next night or a few nights later. The stakes are high every game. The NBA regular season is a bit of a circus with all the travel and a different team every night. The playoffs could provide some normality and focus for Dame.

That is my hope for him anyway. I think he loves basketball, and I don't think he's lost anything physically compared to last season. I also think he's clearly been distracted this season with the move and with the loss of his family life. The playoffs could very well be an antidote to that for him.

Physical tools are a prerequisite to NBA stardom. But then you need the mental part as well.

Wiggins could have been an annual all star. But he just never had the drive.

His biggest contribution to the fansbases of 29 teams was deciding to play hard for a series, in denying the Celtics a title.

Going to be interesting to see how KP and Brown handle the pressure of it being “their year”. Mix in Jrue becoming an inefficient playoff chucker and things will get interesting if their backs are against the wall at any point.

But now they’ve entered the win it all or you are massive failures zone. That’s a ton of pressure.

I definitely agree with you that he's probably in the bottom percentile of NBA players in terms of drive. But I do think there's something about his game where his numbers exceed his imprint on the game, especially when he was still in Minnesota.

In many ways, for both teams, a lot rests on Porzingis for Boston and Middleton for Milwaukee. Two guys who haven't had the most stellar health charts.

I hope Doc watches film from the series two years ago, where guys were idiotically overhelping on drives and leaving Grant Williams and Horford wide-ass open for three. Defensive communication is absolutely crucial. Boston will be heavily working the White/KP high-screen game to go after Dame & Brook.

For Tatum and especially Brown, guys like Pat Bev and Crowder are going to be crucial as well. Just to pester and bother them with some pressure. I haven't watched Boston play fully this year, but are we convinced those guys have improved their ball-handling and driving?

What if Doc puts Giannis on KP? Dare them to run PnR by bringing Giannis into the action. Ask the Suns how that works out.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
