Looks like he has passing chops, that's a big tick for me

Maybe this is what yields the best odds of re-signing Giannis in three years from now. I don't know.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but if they get Filipowski at 33, would it make any difference if the spots were flipped?

Filipowski at 33 is just fine with me.

I mean, if you’re a Filipowski guy, sure lol

When someone like Shannon or Dunn or someone else in that range inevitably outperforms their selection, we are going to look dumb. That’s really the point. We passed up on guys with NBA level skills to look cutesy and flashy…again.

Who cares? What does that mean? It obviously doesn't mean it's where he's going to be drafted, right?

Well, we could have traded down and got 5 2nd round picks and still gotten him.

He was drafted at 23 and it's somehow easier to believe the counterfactual that he'd be there at 52 than at any number much closer to where he was drafted in reality?

Filipowski or Kolek at top of round two will make our draft look oodles better.

He shot 40% in the combine corner three shooting drill.

(That's really bad)

This dude was made in a lab! Where they took 50% Brandon Jennings and 50% Marjon and made a basketball player.

Given how limited his playing time was in Australia, I decided to dig as much as I could for his stats in high school/AAU/whatever So Cal Academy is. I unfortunately couldn't find totals so the best I could do is take the per game stats/percentages and do sort of a weighted average and just kinda hope that gives sort of an accurate picture.

Including the Australian league in the weighted average, I have him averaging ~16/5 rebounds/3.5 assists per 40 minutes and my best guess is he shot around 41% from the field and 29% from 3. Also almost 3 turnovers per 40 minutes. There's no way this is 100% accurate but it's the best I could do in my search for some concrete numbers.

Dame was instrumental in Simons' development, so there's that.
