Well first, hes still 28. Giannis is 30 so thats the timeline, right?

Second, im not sure what the wildest dream is for one unprotected pick but recall it took a 1.24, two unprotected firsts, and two pick swaps to get Jrue Holiday. And that was before Giannis re signed in Milwaukee so those unprotected picks had big potential value.

From that perspective, i think Cam for two late firsts and we pocket the third for something else is a very solid move.

He's 28 for just like, 30 more days but whatever. I'm not paying the small market premium tax for another guy who's reached his ceiling as a "good starter on a contender for the next 2-3 years", and I love Cam Johnson. It's the Antawn Jamison Cavs move.

Okay so what range of players are the worst you would consider using the 31 1st on? Gimme some names

I can't think of any, that's the point. Suns aren't dealing KD anymore but he's obviously a dude that you'd throw that in to get. DeRozan? Jerami Grant? DeAndre Hunter? Yuck.

Short of some already good, young player on a rookie contract or established superstar becoming available in the next 4-hours, don't sink this team into the asset-deficient abyss any more than it already is by settling for the best starter-ish player available just because they're the same age as Giannis. Just flip Brook/Bobby by themselves for a longer contract dude and roll into the offseason with a future pick or two that you can still trade.

Don't know if we can off load Marjon somewhere for cash because I don't think ATL can cut 2 guys.

Maybe I'm missing something but I think now that we are under the 2nd apron and can aggregate salary Bobby & Pat for Hunter is legal on its own.
Correct but I doubt ATL values Bobby. Would rather have Payton's expiring.

Atlanta was interested in Bobby in the past, and have been starting Mahamoud Gueye at the 4.

Okay, I don't even love Cam Johnson, but Jamison was going on 34 at the time.

Highly doubt the Kings wanna trade Sabonis after trading Fox and this clearly makes our defense awful, but I appreciate your effort to shoe-horn your hatred for Dame into literally every trade scenario imaginable.

Bobby/whatever for Hunter is my wishlist, as others mentioned I think he's a pretty ideal fit at the 3, Green at the 2, Kuzma combo forward off the bench. I'd keep Lopez to be the dirty work guy with Giannis but that roster allows a decent amount of quicker small ball lineups when Brook is being cooked.

The point of getting under the apron and adding Sims had to be to make either Brook or Bobby expendable as a means to getting more athletic, right? RIGHT???????

Dame/Rollins
Green/Trent
Hunter/Prince/Ajax (sparingly)
Giannis/Kuz
Brook/Sims (sparingly)

I could get reasonably excited about

Mathurin is available.
What happened to this guy? I remember him playing some inspired defense on Giannis early last year. It seemed like he had a great motor and was very athletic. Did he drop off that hard?

Really hope next year we go into the season with 13 guaranteed contracts and one partially guaranteed. Gotta think the odds are fairly high Kris gets bought out next deadline.

Legit one of the best days of the year for sports outside of NCAA Tourney Opening Thurs/Fri for me.

Even though i hate kuzma, i am warming up to this team getting more athletic and trying to run. Fits better with Giannis and Dame I see the vision, but they have to make some more moves. Can't have two plodders in bobby and brook if you're going to try and get out and play fast.

Interesting to see what Horst has up his sleeve. hopefully its a fed ex sized envelope with a huge trade package.

Read then delete dont shoot the messenger please:

Source: Late this evening, the #Bucks and #Hawks began discussing a trade to send Bogdan Bogdanović to Milwaukee.

A larger deal looms in the forefront for Milwaukee, however if none materialize there is strong mutual interest in this framework

I’d be interested in Mathurin if we got some additional stuff back.

Still don't have a POA wing + athletic center who's playable in the playoffs (not Sims) to twist yourself into knots that the Middleton/AJJo for Kuzma talent reduction was worth it to get under the 2nd apron.

From the bit I follow and watch them I've thought he's been perfectly fine. I'd take him and seems the type of young player we should take swings on. Maybe there is some cap stuff that Indiana wants to save his money and/or trade him now to cash him out since they don't' plan on giving him an extension for real money.

I know exactly where you got this from ("Sean Wright" on Twitter). That guy is fake. Maybe it happens but this guy just throws guesses out there trying to get lucky.

Yeah I'm curious about that, too. Why do they want to move him?

Marks is reporting we are only 284k below the second apron. It will cost roughly 700k today to sign Rollins for the end of the year. Baring a major trade only two options left.

Trade Marjon or Livingston for a TPE. Then sign Rollins.

Trade Marjon/Baldwin for any player at a vet min or rookie scale contract. That's 2.7 million going out and 2.1 or lower coming in. Then either waive the player coming in or Livingston.

Really can't believe we gave all those assets up and still had to take back Baldwin. Talk about losing at every margin.
