Assuming the price for Herro is Kuzma, 2 First rounds picks, plus players who says yes to "go all in"? If you say no what would be your deal?

Fox Yes, Herro No. cheapest guys to acquire would probably be Barret, Derozan or Simons..

Assume this is Fox on San Antonio, is there any reason to think he'd be available after they just traded for him and Spurs clearly need him too if they plan on competing this year?

Considering our main trade piece is Kuzma I'd be thinking more along the lines of Derozan types. Other flawed type players but that could be more useful to us than Kuzma. Oh I see now that you're including our far out 1sts so I see the discussion for these higher types. Personally, I'd probably keep the picks and get what I can for Kuzma, hopefully someone who fits better with how our 5/4 is covered now. If not, play it out and see what shows at the deadline.

Another poster mentioned Fox as an option. I think there is no way to pry him away with what we have to offer...

It's just a weird direction to go coming into an offseason where everyone agreed that we need to try and play more modern basketball. There has to be a Kuzma trade they're pursuing, or else I fear they've learned absolutely nothing and they're just leaning even more into Doc's worst impulses/preferences (jumbo, **** spacing lineups FTW).

Yeah, I’m not “sure” we have a single starter caliber guard on the team

if this coming season kpj, green and trent arent virtually ALL...."starter caliber"..... then the whole team is a wreck anyway.

i think all 3 are perfect fits and starter caliber as it relates to the depth you want to see in this league now. teams need dpeth not more giannis level attackers. they strike me like the bigs on the roster. our bigs are solid depthy guys. no prime embiids but they can all do a little work too

giannis needs to dominate and we need one other guy to just be a legitimate on ball attacker make something happen with the ball type. i think we can find that if kpj doesnt work out. freaking brogdon would be enough

Both odds choices to me as well but both are cheap and we need some capable bodies off the bench. We aren't all going to agree on which fringe NBA players should fill out the end of the bench roster...

If we find out we promised rotational minutes or if it prevent us from signing someone else, sure be upset about it but both guys are NBA players and acceptable 9-12 men on the roster. We've had worse vet mins and so do a lot of other teams. There aren't 350 guys that meet this boards standards of an end of the bench min wage NBA players.
It's been said many times, but these guys slotted in at 9-12 isn't the concern.

Also... the 3 position looks abysmal. There has to be another move on the horizon.

Yeah I mean it seems like we are really trying to morph into an agile, defensive minded team which I love. As a fan I know I am not going to like all the signings our GM makes. Just have to make the best of it and hope he wins on the big swings.

KPJ
Trent Jr.
Kuzma (yuck)
Giannis
Turner

Is that what people expect the starting 5 to look like as of how the roster currently stands?

What else was he supposed to do when Indy wouldn’t pay him? Accept way below market value from a team that has been trying to trade him forever?

Did I say he wasn't supposed to take the money? Let me check my post...

... ... ...

Nope. I did not.

I asked when is the earliest he can be traded.

Weirdly aggressive response.

I feel like we need another steady source of offense, but we do need a wing too who can somewhat defend.

BUCKnation wrote:Even the most non-haters of Kuzma can see he is the odd man out right now. He can't really play the 3 and were loaded at the 4-5 now.

Not sure what we can do about that since we don't have the contracts to make it work to get someone in the 30 mil range, although according to Frank's cap chart, we still have 18 mil left if im understanding that correctly?

18M below the tax but can only sign min contracts outside of the amount left with the room exception (which they probably use on Rollins).

But they can trade Kuz for up to 125% of his salary or Kuz and AJJ for 125% their combined salaries.

Seems they want to stay below the tax, reset the repeater, then likely go over next year assuming Giannis extends because they’ll need to pay KOJ and GTJ for real next offseason.

I’d do Kuz/Cash/26 swap for Wiggins
Saves the Heat $5M+ this season and more next and their owner would love to pocket some cash.

Sir, if you're going to try to create a strawman argument, don't get sensitive about the response.

agreed until you said 2nd option. winners these days need to go 8 deep. hes easily an 8 deep viable guy imo

throw green in for kuz and im giddy

kpj/........ rollins/ajj..... somebody?
trent/harris
green/kuz/prince
giannis/portis
turner/sims

offense is gonna run thru kpj and giannis. not sure a traditional backup pg even makes sense except a 3/d option and maybe not even a real pg type even fits there?

Kuz is back up to Giannis. Its honestly fine, if he finds his shot and guard the wing he can play the 3
