HOU can't offer the max after paying Ariza, I thought?

Question. If you owned an NBA team, how much better would you feel about landing Bledsoe at 3yrs/$45 million versus having to pay him 4yrs/$63 million?
PO on the 3rd year too I believe, there's a trade kicker as well but I don't think that's huge

Re: Bucks looking at Bledsoe, probably.
Wow. Everyone should be thankful that the posters in the last few pages are not in the front office of the Bucks. You guys make Hammond look like a genius. Not only do these last few pages of posters want to give a midget, injury plagued guard, who can't shoot well or pass well. a max contract , but you want to give up two very good assets (knight and Henson) in addition. There is a reason Bledsoe has not been getting a lot of interest at the price he wants.
But there are probably a few GMs who will panic, because they haven't done enough in the offseason and will give Bledsoe what he wants. We need a GM who doesn't make dumb deals, just because he is bored during the summer, like the posters in the last few pages.Knight has improved a lot and is still very young and has good upside. He is also a potential leader of this team, because he is so competitive.Be mature, stick with a reasonable plan.
The Bucks will add a guard, because they are so front-court imbalanced. Just don't panic and tie yourself with a bad contract going forward. We've done that before.

I meant I don't think a trade kicker is a huge obstacle.....

Not for us but it would make Bledsoe tough to trade if Ennis plays well this year and they want to keep Dragic and the twins next summer etc.

Ok wasn't looking at Suns POV but that makes sense

We get it, you enjoy comparing Knight's best traits to Bledsoe's worst ones.

That's not comparing apples to apples, in my opinion. Phoenix has no one that I would consider the franchise cornerstone (Bledsoe included) that you usually need to contend and this draft was full of players with that potential. It's admirable that they won 48 games with that team, but in reality, it likely did them more harm than good considering that they really could have used someone like Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, etc.
Giannis and Parker both have that cornerstone potential. If the Bucks win 50 games based mostly on their performance, it means that they're developing quickly and our rebuilding process is going better than expected. If they become the players we're hoping they will, we will be a contending team. Phoenix on the other hand, likely has a ceiling of 45 wins as currently constructed. I consider last season an anomaly.

Not exactly. The Suns were a much older team last year than the Bucks will be this year. Everybody in their rotation was 24 and up.
Yes. I'm not trying to bash the Suns. They did last year what Herb Kohl and John Hammond were tasked with the prior six-seasons and could only pull off for one-half a season (2010).
I just don't see any cornerstone players there, outside of maybe Bledsoe, but I don't know if he gets any better than he was last year. PHX, TOR and CHA all looked to me like teams that really over-achieved and had great chemistry. But I'm not convinced it is repeatable.
PHX has to catch lightning in a bottle with someone in the age 20-24 range for sustained success.

paulpressey25 wrote:^^^I have no idea what the Suns were supposed to do last year. But in my opinion they find themselves stuck like the Bucks were after the FTD season. The West is damn tough and I'm not sure how they go anywhere beyond a 40-45 win team unless they find a front court player who turns into an all star go to guy. I'm sure they hoped Len will be that guy, but he hasn't had a good start.
I guess my bigger point is that right now the Suns are in that Michael Redd/Mo Williams free agency territory the Bucks were in a number of years back. You absolutely don't want to lose the asset, but at the same time, you absolutely don't want to stuff up your salary cap with a max contract for a guy with the health risk that Bledsoe carries with him.
Agree.
Having said that, I wonder how hard the Suns are kicking themselves for not taking Noel.
Yikes, would he be a great fit there and neither he nor Len had any impact last year.

You admitted that you haven't watched Bledsoe, so how can you hold such a convicted opinion on him?

I get what your saying and understand it from a Bucks perspective but the Suns also could just go with the Pacers model with good asset management and being fiscally responsible. With good scouting and management they could potentially get another high potential cornerstone piece via the draft or a trades with their assets and when it comes to FA if they're smart with there cash even potentially lure a damn good player via Free Agency. Pheonix isn't Milwaukee and would hold more sway probably on it's own and when you factor in that they were a 48 win team last year it defenitaly not an unattractive place for a high profile guy to sign with... I just think there's more ways of building a team then the just "tank for high picks" in ways putting a team together. Hell that's why there's this thread discussing Bledsoe. Suns aren't in bad shape going forward as long as management keep making good choices. That's all I was trying to say.
But I will say i'll still hold to the fact a few posters around here,(not everyone but a couple), would complain if the Bucks managed to win 50 games next year on the backs of Giannis, Parker, and Sanders.... Just sayin

Re: Bucks looking at Bledsoe, probably.
Next week is the five year anniversary of the Summer (or month) of Ramon.
What I'd like to see is this thread run another day or two, then we get some real rumors, start a new thread and have that one run 300 pages like we did with Sessions.
I think we had a 150 page "intro" thread on Ramon that then moved into a 300 page thread once the Alan Hahn/D'Antoni stuff started to get real.
