If he had just stopped at "shoot himself", I would have been happy. Someone please buy that man a moped.

ETA: WRau1 beats me to it.

Give him a moped and a hot FO secretary, the rest will take care of itself.

"Sad" sure, but "pathetic" might be an even better choice:

Monta hasn't shot above 46% for a season since 2007-2008. That's also how long it has been since he was an above average shooter (for a shooting guard). Don't you think a star should be above average?

How much shooting will it take to get out of this 4+ year slump?

Ellis has to get some standards. Why hasn't Skiles benched him more when he has dragged the team down?

(Also, Wiretap, your source's name is Gardner, not Garner.)

OTOH, maybe if Monta stops thinking of himself as a shooting star, he could have more games like yesterday's against the Nets: 8 for 12 from 2 and only one shot (and miss) from 3. And he could still have the occasional big night when his stars align.

Yeah I was gunna say, Monta's been shooting his way out of a slump for 5 seasons now.

But this season is different. His eFG his last three seasons with GSW (all after 07-08):
.493
.463
.469

His eFG this season:
.417

He's definitely in a slump compared to his norm.

Thought the same thing

And tbh a good coach would tell him not to settle for the jumper and attack the rim more.

Seriously, this could be the next bag night. We could all pitch in a few bucks and have it delivered to the Cousins Center. Maybe Hammond/Kohl/Skiles would take the hint.

Do people really think teams are going to be lining up to give this guy a long term contract over $10M?

The longer this slump continues, the higher likelihood he will opt-in.

Everybody should be cheering for him to start playing better because I doubt he's going to the bench.

The better he plays, the better we will play, the more trade value he holds and the higher chance he opts out.

Let make it a true "FTD II" season and bring Salmons back.

Evans & Salmons
for
Ellis & Dalembert

Bucks Get: Salmons, Evans and 1st
Kings Get: Ellis and Harris

Suggested this a couple pages back....Kings need a SF of the future, with having Robinson at the 4 and Cousins at the 5, and this would be more realistic

New Trade Idea

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b6o9vcx

Bucks get: Matthews
Blazers get: Gortat and Dudley
Suns get: Ellis and Leonard

Why Bucks?
Simply put, Ellis is a terrible fit next to Jennings

Why Blazers?
They realize that the clock is ticking on Aldridge. He is in his prime now and pairing him with Gortat would make them better

Why Suns?
Suns are a terrible team, but get their C of the Future and Monta is someone they can market around

Those Kings trades are awful. Maybe a Monta/Evans swap, but taking Salmons for an expiring is ludicrous. They aren't giving up their first either so you can forget about that.

That Blazers/Suns trade doesn't look awful though. I don't see the Blazers doing it in all honesty though unless Matthews is out for a while with that hip injury.

I don't think the Suns are going to trade Gortat for anyone in that package.

Gortat is not happy in PHX and might demand a trade soon. It would be a good package

No Evans, regardless of what's going out, ever. Remember, Evans = nutpunch.

I don't think any team gives up much for Monta at this point. He is a looming free agent, he dominates the ball, and he doesn't play defense. That would make a him a dynamite sixth man on a team pushing for a title, but how many championship contenders are willing to give up much of anything in a trade for a sixth man?

I can tell you one possibility that could be intriguing to you though: Monta + Larry Sanders for Javale McGee. McGee is a knucklehead in a long term deal, but he's a 7 foot athlete that would help your center situation. And Denver might want to take on Monta to push their level up and help their SG situation.

I consider Sanders a better prospect than Javale, so I'd pass on this deal.

At this point, I'll send Ellis for whatever the best young player or pick is.

Make it top 10 protected and you have yourself a deal.
