I'm surprised, I'd have thought you guys would like Redick. .590 TS% (15ppg), 2:1 ast/to ratio while getting 4.5 apg... I dunno who said he played decent D, but dont lie :D

He does a lot of little things that help teams, very underrated player. Yeah he's 6'4, yeah he's not a great defender, yeah he's white.. but if you are keeping Jennings he's a very solid backcourt mate for him IMO. I really like the move for you guys, especially once Monta is out of town and Redick can take the starting gig

That makes no sense. We were going to get Redick if we got Smith (and Udrih was traded to Orlando).

Really, we're going to bombard Redick's twitter with negative stuff now?

Redick is good and is exactly what the team needed.

But Christ, WTF is Ellis still doing here?

Agreed!
Especially if Tobe proves he's a slow footed D sieve and lamb continues to show the gane is too big for him.

Because lord knows you can't trade Monta!

I have to question if our refusal to trade Ellis is some sort of indication that he'll be here for a long time. They are really dumb.

I suppose we need to look at it this way:

Lamb - Complete and utter benchwarmer
Harris - Should probably be getting playing time, but won't with Ilyasova/Dunleavy/The Prince. In Economics, Harris is basically a sunk cost. We have to accept that he was never going to get playing time.
Udrih - Meh. Redick is basically a better version of him with more range.

The advantage to this is that I guess we get to see Jennings paired up with an actual 2 guard, and see how Jennings develops in that environment.

In the end, I'm not too disappointed with the trade, but just dissapointed that we couldn't get rid of Ellis and get Smith to go along with it. I think a Jennings/Redick/Smith/Ilyasova/Sanders line-up would've been quite awesome. I just can't **** believe we didn't apparently even attempt to get rid of Ellis.

omg we wouldn't include Ellis. We don't have Josh Smith right now because we wouldn't trade Monta Ellis. Kill me.

Dont make excuses for him, that is exactly why he is a terrible NBA GM. Any of us wouldn't have risked waiting up until a minute before the deadline to complete a deal just to guard against exactly what ended up happening, yet he was stupid enough to let Atl string him along all the way up until the point of no return. Hammond is a f*cking dunce

Jesus Christ, Hammond was going to do that?

I would have been fine with that too, although as everyone has said, would have been nicer to include Ellis.

Why get Redick, but keep Ellis?

I'm not saying they played their cards correctly, but they wouldn't have included Ellis. Hawks pulled out.

So at the end of the day, we still refused to give up Monta in a Josh Smith deal when we already had Redick on deck? Lol oh my goodness that is just awful GM'ing. That's disgusting.

This has to be Kohl. Wanted Ellis, Redick, Jennings, and Smith for one final run before he sells after the season.

It was a three way trade and different players would have went to Orlando.

Want and get are two different things. I'd give him Ersan's contract, though.

But the point is, given that Hammond is going balls out trying to make the playoffs, under those circumstances, you could very much argue he made a "good trade". Not one that most will agree with because they want the team to move in a different direction. But all in all, this trade made the Bucks better for the rest of the season which was his near-sighted goal.

No, you can't argue it's a good trade. Redick doesn't even make up the difference to the 7th seed.

You're just delusional now. We traded our last two bench players and a backup PG for a starting-caliber SG (who should be starting here) that is a career 40% shooter from 3.

I can understand being upset but take the everything-Hammond-does-is-awful blinders off for one second.

Very rare that a guy gets what he's posturing for, but if I had the option of Monta at 11m or inking Redick for 4/40, I'd do the latter every day of the week. And if he can stabilize the backcourt with Jennings, he'd be worth every penny too

I'm not sure you can jump to that conclusion.
