Do you or anyone (GAD) know-
Can we trade our rights to BJ now in non S&T as he is a RFA?
Can we trade now Ellis' Bird Rights in non S&T?

Yeah, my mistake. I even explained that to someone wanting to trade Jennings for Dallas's pick.

I would still consider it for a prospect after the draft, though it becomes less likely. But it's very plausible to imagine New Orleans picking a player that both they and the Bucks like, so it's no risk for them if the trade falls through and it still gives them the asset they need to make the Bucks want to do the trade.

I think at this point Henson + pick 17 for one of those picks is more realistic than Jennings. And I would do it to get a player like Porter or Muhammad.

Signing Smith Milsap or Jefferson make us somewhat better but those are all hugely priced front-court guys when we need help at 1,2,3. I don’t buy Smith or Milsap as the primary 3. BJ and Ellis both suck and I don’t want either long term. Instead...

Maybe you package Henson and the pick to move up to get a guard, Ellis opts out, we renounce him, Dunleavy and Dalembert, we amnesty Gooden, Redick signs quickly, while we wait on Jennings we sign Millsap and Budinger, then resign Jennings.

Jennings/rookie guard (Smart?)
Redick/rookie guard
Budinger/Millsap
Ersan/Millsap
Sanders/Ayon

There's your rotation. In the 2nd, take PnR god Westermann and let him continue developing overseas. Find a way to get the Nets pick and take Yanni with the same idea.

Not bad but for me - from the little PT henson's had I believe he's gonna be better than Milsap. For me Sanders & Henson are untouchable - period. Ersan is almosst and if he resigns so is Reddick

I posted this deal on the trade board and got pretty decent response; Moute, Udoh, 15th pick for 8th pick, 28th pick, 31st pick, Perkins

Follow up with something like Illy for 10th pick, Ariza

Let the rebuild begin (using NBAdraft.net)

MKE draft at 8- Shabazz
MKE draft at 10 - Oladipo
MKE draft at 28 - Archie Goodwin/Tony Mitchell
MKE draft at 31 - Kabongo/Canaan
MKE draft at 45 - Patric Young

Assuming Ellis opts in;
PG - Ellis, Kabongo, Ish (or Canaan)
SG - Oladipo, Goodwin
SF - Shabazz, Ariza (or Tony Mitchell)
PF - Henson, Patric Young, Ayon
C - Sanders, Perkins, Gooden

If Ellis opts out; bring in Devin Harris or equivalent, maybe bring back Dunleavy or Morrow. A really long, athletic team that can get out and run. Plenty of cap space to extend Sanders, or maybe even absorb a salary to acquire more picks.

I really like that idea up until you trade Ersan. He's our most efficient offensive player and a great rebounder, regardless of his defensive struggles, I don't want to trade him after his second half of the year breakout. Plus, are you going to really get a better product at #10 + cap fodder for what Ersan produces? No.

I want to see the team go full (Please Use More Appropriate Word) and get Josh Smith, play him alongside Ersan and Sanders. Re-sign Redick and one of Ellis/Jennings.

Roll with:

Ellis/x
Redick/Dunleavy?
Smith/Luc
Ersan/Smith/Henson
Sanders/Udoh/Ayon

I'm not sure the team would be that great, but I want to see the all-in actually happen if we are going to try it.
Would also like to see the Smith/Ersan SF/PF on offense/defense swap experiment that a few on here say cannot happen, yet never back up with any explanation as to why Ersan can't be perimeter SF on offense with Smith down low.

Assuming Ellis opts in, I'd package him with #15 to see how high we could move up, if at all, targeting Burke. That most likely doesn't get it done, but I'd try, throw in Moute if it helps get it done. If Ellis opts out, I'd let him go, obviously. I'd let Jennings and Redick walk. Gooden amnestied, obviously.

My summer would consist of finding ways to either move up substantially in the draft or get another first. There is no way I'd spend big money on any of these three guards. If we are going to spend money on a guard, I'd much rather roll the dice on Eric Gordon, who I think will be available via trade.

do something that doesn't involve "just making the playoffs".

We cannot throw money at the current backcourt. no way, no how. Don't throw money at Josh Smith.

Wait, who's in charge? Nevermind, we're stuck in mediocrity.

That's too much to give up for Batum. I like the kid but I don't think he's worth two lottery picks. Especially with some concerns about his attitude.

I'm with ya, but that's obviously unrealistic. I mean, what would you have our roster at going into next year?

Yeah. Who we replaced that sad lot with would dictate which of them I'd be willing to keep. For example if we went all in on vets in FA and via trade (as we absolutely would) I'd be happy to keep MDJ, Luc, Udoh. If we went young, as we wouldn't, I'd be happy to keep Udoh and possibly Luc.

As far as our vaunted 3 guard rotation goes, I don't want Jennings or Monta back at any price and I think Redick will get overpaid which I wouldn't try to match (not as in RFA match, I just wouldn't make him an 'overs' offer).

Our problem is that with all our 'assets' expiring and being allowed to walk we have nothing to use to obtain any new assets other than our pick(s), which isn't very attractive. This is why you trade Jennings last deadline btw, but that's not helping now I suppose. I'd like Milsap, but I'm not sure he's a huge difference maker particularly with Ersan playing so well in such a similar role.

I suppose I'd settle my lot on Eric Gordon. I'm much less enthused about him now than I was prior to this season tbh, but with our low level of tradeable assets he might be the biggest difference maker we can get after.
Jennings S&T, 2014 1st for Gordon if we can get there - though I don't see any real reason Jennings agrees to a S & T, he won't feel he owes us anything. Probably doesn't get it done anyway, might have to include Udoh. I realize it's a low offer, but Gordon's value is sinking like a stone.

I don't know enough about this draft class yet to know where I should be aiming, but whoever the best PG is at our pick get him, then go and get Andre Miller if you can as a stop gap mentor - Moute/Smith maybe gets it done, if not aim at Ridnour instead.

Sign Iggy to 3/$40m if it gets it done, max 4/$50m. Ellis has to have opted out as would Iggy, or I suppose if they both opt in the trade could be done directly without a new contract for either. God I don't want to do that immediately after typing it, but whatever.

Miller / Draft Pick
Gordon / Vet (Redick if favorable) / 2nd
Iggy / MDJ
Ersan / Henson
Larry / Vet (Udoh if not moved) / Ayon

Meh.
