I’ve been on the Ponitka train for so long. Polish Ginobili.

More of a shorter Shengelia I would say, good driver, good athlete, ok shooter, average passer. Surprised he is still 26, he should get a chance at a better team than the Kubans and Zenits of the world at some point

His fearless, crafty drives to the bucket are Manu esque. Always hitting the floor after loose balls, scrappy as hell. You say he’s an average passer but he had some sick dimes against China. Outside shot would be what keeps him from becoming great. Obviously not as talented as Manu.

Georgia is another team better than a lot here.

He's not someone I would run my offense through against any good competition (poles are doing this because their only floor general is Koszarek, who was never very good tbh and now he is 35yo and totally washed, and they are using Slaughter who is an SG in heart) that's why I would refrain from the manu comparison

The issue with 32 teams is that the group stage sucks big time, there are no good teams outside of Europe and 4-5 other countries (USA, Canada, Argentina, Australia and maaaaybe Brazil) and 3/4 of the games are either **** between bad teams or boring blowouts.
Croatia, Latvia, Slovenia would be good additions to the tournament, teams like Finland, Bosnia and Georgia fall into the Montenegro-Poland-Russia category, good for not allowing bad Asian or African teams to advance in the 2nd round but that's all, barring a really hot streak of 3pters.

Read on Twitter

Technically he'd be the third player with that type of line. Salah Mejri finished with 22p-15r-3a-2s-5b in regulation against Iran about an hour before.

He hit 5/9 3s as well.

The Chinese booing Andrew Bogut every time he touches the ball has been of the highlights of the World Cup so far. Apparently it’s retaliation for some spouting off by Bogut about a Chinese swimming controversy or something.

That's a really good effort from Senegal to keep the game close.

Had to go check this out. He took a shot on twitter a number of weeks ago at a Chinese swimmer for allegedly doping. Not his fault the Chinese Ryan Braun decided to smash his blood test vials with a hammer. 8-)

Remember when people from this board were clamoring for the acquisition of Schroeder?

A minority of posters, maybe Jennings fans? :D

Was fun listening to the commentators gush over the Aussie team today.

I still have nightmares of Schroeder doing casual lay ups in front of John Henson

It was pretty big news over here- one of the Aussie swimmers refused to stand on the podium with him after a race as a protest, I had no idea about the background and thought it was all a bit over the top then read the background and went "gosh!". It's a little comical.

These 2 endings were crazy, sloppy as hell, but more entertaining than I ever dreamed.
