Ron Swanson wrote:Like, there's no way that any other team was coming close to this kind of offer for Jrue. Unless I'm missing some rumors from the other teams that were linked to him, this is a classic "bid against yourself" move.

But yes, if this is the move that means Giannis signs on the dotted line, then sure, it's the right choice. That doesn't change that we basically gave up the Paul George/Anthony Davis trade package for like, the 31st best player in the league.

It wasn’t Drew Gooden overbidding bad, at least.

Sure, the picks are similar, but I feel like the gap between Ingram/Ball or Gilgeous-Alexander vs Bledsoe/Hill is about the same as the gap between Davis or George vs Jrue.

Let's let them get through their rookie contracts before we rush to judgement.

All we gotta do is get Giannis to stay. That’s all that matters. We **** the bed in 3 years and he demands a trade? We can expect a return that dwarfs what we just gave up. He stays all 5 years and we don’t win? That sucks, but hell if it wouldn’t still be the best run of pro basketball in my lifetime, and picks in the late 20s wouldn’t do us **** anyways.

I’ll have a meltdown over this if Giannis doesn’t sign. Until then - despite the massive haul - it’s aces.

I think this goes to show that draft picks for this draft are not valued very much. (ie this trade and the Covington trade)

Didn’t Covington go for two first? Maybe the market is just inflated this year.

Yeah. What a bad year to have to push it all in then.

You want to be able to invest counter-cyclically.

Sure but if you think this means a Giannis extension then you would add literally anything to it, right?

If there was ever a trade that is tough to quantify in stats like this, it's this one.

I will miss having draft picks at the draft though.

Bad trade for the Bucks Holiday is good not great disappears in big games. Hill was a very good bench player and 3 1st round picks is just stupid.

I think it shows you have to keep your great players happy so they don't demand trades or sign elsewhere.

Not surprising and fine by me. Jrue Holiday screams “Giannis guy”. Let’s go win this thing.

When you have giannis, you do what's necessary to keep him. Loved hill, but he's cooked.

I heard Green/Kuzma/#28 for sure and David Griffin scoffed at it. So I imagine there was another bid between what the Bucks sent over and the Lakers offer.

Yes, for damn sure. And I’m also certain that Horst would never do this if giannis didn’t sign off and commit in his end.

If we get Bogdan then that’s icing on the cake.

But because of the price we paid for Jrue, the cake is partially made of recycled pulp from making green juice. So it’s not everything you’d want in a cake.

It was reported that Boston/Philly/Milwaukee were all going hard after Jrue. The Bucks didn't bid against themselves, Jrue could very well be on one of the other East contenders right now.
