The problem is what do we do if we can AG? Maybe we can get Kenny A. But it's not like a clear upgrade is out there like Nurse during the off-season or Snyder was last season.

Of course Atkinson is a clear upgrade, but I'm not holding my breath that any of this stuff means they're close to firing Griffin. Again, things would have to get real bad, i.e. the level of bad that no one here should be wishing for.

Lets all hope so. I believe someone referenced to the David Blatt firing when the Cavs were 30-11. It has been done before and should be done again here. I can only hope Bud would consider any olive branches offered in his direction. Otherwise yes, I am in the Stotts and Atkinson camps.

That's the problem. Really, Bud would offer the most seamless transition, but I don't think it's realistic and I do think he had meaningful faults.
Atkinson would be an upgrade over Griff, IMO.
Maybe we wait out the season and can pull Taylor Jenkins out of that mess in Memphis.

Giannis has done so much for this franchise that he deserves a say in his coach but if they are already correcting him and questioning him and there is no internal belief in the plan then it's okay for Giannis to say I was wrong about the dude and we have to quickly correct course.

My internal clock was to give AG a quarter of the season before starting to make judgements.
Hard to come away from the first quarter of the year and not think they'd be in a better place with vanilla schemes on both side of the ball.
I realize I'm probably gonna get pilloried for this, but a base-level competent coach like Doc Rivers would be a significant improvement.

If I'm Horst I sell it to Giannis that this is not our best path to a championship this year or beyond and convince him that this season is salvageable if we act now. I bring in Dame and have him convince Giannis that Terry Stotts would have this offense cooking and not be a sieve on defense. I fill a large bag with a large amount of money and offer it to Stotts as I tell him how right he was all along and offer him the keys.

FTR record I think IF available KA is a clear upgrade. I just have doubt he's available mid-season. I meant clear upgrade on the open market.

Granted, Lebron would not have chosen him in the first place.

I mean, what makes you say that? LeBron’s been a much more prolific meddler in his career than Giannis. It had been reported that Giannis wanted a former player as a head coach, but we don’t really know if it was an ultimatum. I, frankly, doubt it was.
Then add in that the bucks had three finalists with only one of them being a former player. Griff made it all the way to the final round with the bucks - it’s also on the org for seeing him as a viable candidate to make it that far.
He didn’t hand pick this coach from the beginning.

Yeah I don't know who leaked it, but it was likely one of them, and it happened fast. The vibes are not great.

The whole purpose of having a coach is to have him organize the team. If AG isn't doing that then why is he coaching?

Giannis presser yesterday is a good listen. SAS asks him what the biggest difference between this team and the last few years and Giannis talks about how despite having a lot of talent they need to be more organized on both sides of the ball.
I haven’t seen that presser, but yikes if he actually said that lol.
Starts at 650 but worth watching the body language of him walking in. The disorganized quote was definitely "yikes" but definitely seems deeper than a shot at AG. He walks it back a bit when SAS follows up and points to not getting back on D isn't the coaches fault.
He does talk about 'wanting it' so if we are reading too much into it, is he talking about Dame?
“Coaches can say whatever they want to say and put us in a position to be successful. And you hope that they do that for you…(big sigh)….but you got to make the plays.”

Stotts is probably your best bet. He ran a similar defensive "drop" scheme as Bud and he already knows the players and assistant coaching staff. I will give Horst credit, he did try to hedge his bet that AG was going to be a disaster by putting Stotts on the staff. Just too bad AG saw through it and pushed Stotts out the door.

Bud will calm the team down and get the best out of the players; so he is my first preference. Stotts and Kenny should be the next set to choose one from. I don’t think we should wait another few months.

Re: PG Indy - Doris and Reggie Love it, LOVE IT
I don't think poaching a guy off another team's staff is that realistic and neither is a more tactical minded coach coming in implementing a whole new system midseason on the fly, maybe not impossible and better than what we have now but I just don't see it. Bud really is the only guy available that could salvage the season like it or not, maybe Stotts IDK he wasn't here that long. I'm confident Bud would have this team looking right by New Years if we made the move now.

Re: PG Indy - Doris and Reggie Love it, LOVE IT
The real question I have, as I am not as immersed in the Bucks twitter/social media world as likely some here are, but are we on this board the only people pining for a coaching change? If so, that is a real depressing thought. It just seems very obvious to a lot of us that Griff ain't the guy. The organization has to start seeing this soon too, right? RIGHT??

was never high on griff as the new coach. but not even going to entertain an in season firing. it's championship or bust and they're going to flame out early if they continue this way.it looks bad now and eye test is even worse than the bud years. However, I am going to say what i did during the Championship run and this team should only be judged by the post season and I'll be holding off firings until i see them get whooped in the playoffs.

From your mouth to God's ears.
He has to go. Like, yesterday.

We're talking in circles on here, but this is not even remotely a possibility.
Edens wouldn't do it due to ego, Bud probably tells us to go **** ourselves if we did.
Stotts, at this juncture, is the only real play, imo.
I just watched CM Punk on wwe television. In 2023 anything is possible

This seems to be the exact reason Monty didn't take this job. Too much pressure to perform when relying on all time greats to change their game to match your vision. Funny thing is cant even get rookie contract guys on his vision and meet the ridiculously low expectations in Detroit. If it wasn't for the contract size, he would be gone by mid-season.
