Well, we could have traded down and got 5 2nd round picks and still gotten him.

He was drafted at 23 and it's somehow easier to believe the counterfactual that he'd be there at 52 than at any number much closer to where he was drafted in reality?

yes.

Why is that? Who is more likely to be wrong: reality or Kevin O'Connor?

it's the most obvious comparison possible tbh

Is it?

I think this kid could be a lead guard.

Could be wrong.

Reminds me of Jrue a little when he was drafted

Tied with Edey for 35th out of 72 on pull-up college distance 3's at 60% and tied for 40th on "on the move" college 3's at the Combine at 48% (FWIW, Jared McCain was weirdly at 48% too and he's a fantastic shooter).

Regardless of how anyone feels about the pick, it’s just a blatant misuse of assets. Taking a guy at #23 that would’ve for sure been there at #33 just feels like Horst trying to be cute. I can’t help but get the feeling that he wanted his Hammond-Giannis moment. We could’ve easily traded down like New York with OKC for 5 seconds.

Obviously we know nothing about the kid, so I’ll patiently wait to see what Horst saw in him. I just don’t understand how a win-now team by far took the biggest swing in a draft that may or may not pay off.

He’s a lotto ticket. We needed a win-now contributor.

He moves like an NBA player, looks to have better basketball intuition than Marjon. I really know nothing so I'm just tryna see the vision with the kid. Prob a 2-3 year project but his stock could rapidly rise, that's something at #23 in an awful draft. He will put on 20-30 pounds of muscle in the next few years, so thats cool

I strongly believe he would have been there at 33, but no, I can't prove it. We at least could have traded back a couple spots.

Calming down a little, I do respect the confidence to take a swing. We just have so few avenues to improve a team built for win now that I have a tough time utilizing one on a project. Hope he shows us something.

Saw someone on twitter say he’s Bronny without the nepotism. Feels about right.
Do it for Chuck
