We still can’t trade the ‘31 1st because we’re a second apron team, right?

You can add a big body center for cheap. You have Giannis and Bobby to play at the 5 against smaller teams.

None of whom will be as good, or as good of a fit, as Brook. The MUCH easier replacement is Bobby.

That said, I might do this, if we didn't have to add anything crazy like a(nother) future 1st. I don't think we should have to, to satisfy our needs. What we require out of our 2 isn't a lot. At times last season I thought Rayjon Tucker may have been enough.

Of course they won’t be as good as Brook, that’s why they come in at a fraction of the price. Brook is a better player than Bobby, but he doesn’t offer the lineup versatility Bobby does. You can only play one way defensively when Brook is on the floor.

So Horst has litetally sabotaged us on draft days, handcuffed us at the 2nd apron and wants to go to Detroit as their tank commander. Pistons job suits him more to be honest. Lets move on, release Horst from his duties and hire a GM please. Bucks need a GM, just hire that YouTube Draft gick ... he will be 10x better than Horst.

I know. I said a hard "nope" to it. He's an asset to our or most clubs. Take a similar level asset. Doesn't have to be Herb Jones. If this is what it takes, I'd deal w/ Bev, AJJ, Green, & now AJJo as point of attack options. At least see if it works thru the deadline.

Otherwise keep Brook. He's not easy to replace. Enjoy the full salary clearance for apron purposes next season. Then try to replace him w/ more resources in FA. Certainly don't give up a 1st to make the future even more bleak. Defeats 1 purpose of trading him.

Edit: Anyway, like Athens said, it's illegal. That Tweeter also said it's his "suspicion". So he doesn't know s**t. It's 1 bloke's opinion.

That's not really the case for Bobby anymore. It was, pre knee injury. Had little athleticism to concede.

I'd be open to trading either. But I'd prefer Bobby, as his 6th-7th man role is more replaceable than a guy who's shown we can start & puts up a strong net rating, flaws and all.

If a team actually told us we have to attach a 1st rd pick (which we can't even), or an asset like Johnson, I'd tell them to piss off. I would run it back then, & try to get better w/ internal development, FA, etc. We could reassess at the deadline. But I don't buy what that guy was saying. Bobby & Brook are moderate assets. If the apron rules make moves untenable, then it is what it is.

I really doubt that’s true unless his definition of difference maker is just much higher than I’d think.

This feels like he's talking about Wiggins to me. We've reportedly had interest in the past and when he's actually on the court and locked in you could consider him a difference maker. It would be an easy no to that package for me. If it gets us an Ingram type guy then count me in but that's hard with our assets and being in the 2nd apron.

I probably do Brook and that first for Wiggins, but I have more faith in Wiggins engaging and playing up to his potential than most.

Yeah zero chance I do that. It doesn’t make us better. I bet Warriors trade him straight up for Lopez anyway.

Really? They couldn't even find a back up center last year.

The Warriors should have to give us a pick to take on Wiggins.

Yeah no way Brook AND a first for Wiggins.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I think we need to get under the 1st apron too

I'm like 90% sure that is not the case. As long as you're under the 2nd apron, you're allowed to aggregate salaries. So if Frank is correct that it's where you end up after the transaction that matters, we can aggregate salaries and then take back somewhere around $6 million less (I think that's the number I've seen thrown around, but not sure) to get under the apron.

So trading Bobby + Pat = a max of roughly $16 million coming back.
Brook + Pat = a max of roughly $26 million coming back.
Trading all 3 = a max of roughly $39 million coming back.

You also have to account for any additional empty roster spot holds that would need to be created if we are sending out more players than we are getting back. If so, what we can take back is reduced by that amount or amounts.

Just do the Brook for Bruce Brown 3-team deal and send Brook to OKC. Get some future draft assets back for your trouble.

I feel like the SG upgrade needs to be massive if we are moving Brook, only because we legitimately have no other center on the roster. A vet min signing isn’t going to do it. Obviously there are some long term play trades that would make some sense there, but feel like it will sink us this season and time is running out on this title window.

I also have faith in Wiggins as a 4th option player that could get you 30+ when hot but wouldn't give up a 1st for him. I'd rather look into getting Grant Williams or trying to get the TPE to get a guy like Taurean Prince.

I can't think of any good 3 and D wings that's available besides KCP in a Sign n Trade. I don't even know if that's possible.

I'd rather keep alopez and start AJax or Green to be honest.

Attaching the 2031 1st to a 24m expiring of a premium positioned player with multiple elite skills is absolutely bonkers. Idk who Sam Quin is but his suspicion can suck my ass.

I wouldn’t do Brook for Wiggins straight up lol. Want no part of Wiggins for like 30 mil/yr for 3 more years. Not bailing them outta that without getting other stuff back.

The last thing I want to do right now is a trade that hamstrings us cap wise even more than we already are. We're already projected $195 next year and adding Wiggins $28m would only make it worse.

Brown can't do anything our own guys can do, and that doesn't fix our apron issues. Keep looking
