Hey now, my logic is that Kobe is at a multi-time higher level mentally than Lebron. Kobe is probably the smartest basketball player in the League. His body isn't at the same level as Lebron's, but to me that means little.

Also, the story here should be about Dwight Howard. This is the thing escaping this entire thread. This guy is stepping up big time and is headed to the Finals for a shot at his first ring. How is this not being talked about. Dwight is the best big in the world.

What are Shaqs? (Even though I know that doesn't matter, at least to some people around here.) ;)

I think I was the one who started this debate from Kobe's perspective. In any event, Nebula and I go a long way back. Sharing a wagon is no thang but a chicken wang. lol.

I'll agree and I'll say this, when we have the "best player in the NBA streads", its always pretty insane to me that Dwight isn't mentioned more.

The Cavs series isn't over yet though.

It all makes sense now. Wise moved into a cave about the time Shaq was winning Kobe's final ring so many years ago.

That was what confused me most about the situation. It was already all the pressure in the world. You know there's a crap load of pressure when Mo freakin' Williams is shaken.

Dwight Howard better win one, then he can talk to those guys.

Pretty sure Dwight wants a ring.

Great game for him tonight. Totally took over the overtime after being tackled by Varejao at the end of regulation.

Plus he took part in two dunk contests, which Lebron is too good for. Probably because he can't figure out which dunks to copy.

If winning dictates everything, then that means Kobe isn't the best player in the NBA. Tim Duncan and Shaq are clearly better than him until he wins another ring, then he is on there level... I mean, who cares that Duncan and Shaq are both aging and past their primes, they have more rings, right?

Kids. We're debating Kobe v LePrince. Not Kobe v Shaq and Duncan.

Kobe's winning trumps Lehype's winning.

I agree. Pretty much everyone has gotten caught up with LeBron and Kobe and people have forgotten that dominant bigs on teams that play great D win championships.

We are debating what makes one player better than another and thus far you guys have used the ring defense a lot...

Then you turn around and say Kobe is the best player in the league, when he doesn't have the most rings.

So which is it? Are Shaq and Duncan the best players? Or do you think Kobe is better than them, even though that goes against how you try to defend him?

Winning is all that matters, that is what you 'old school' guys say, right?

Thus far, Howard has trumped both Bryant and James as far as being the best player in the playoffs. He has been amazing.

As for the series, its insane that such a ridiculous team like the Cavs are an insane shot away from being swept right now. Just crazy.

The Magic are just their kryptonite. A less toxic version of that Warriors to the Mavs kryptonite, or maybe a better analogy is that Mavs to the Spurs kryptonite.

Actually it's amazing that the Lebron Hype Machine derailed such an old and proven theory. Remember when Jackson was bashed for saying he'd take Howard to start a team? Everyone doubted them as a fraud team coming in.

I'm very happy for them. It's always good for the League to have a very likable big man. Shaq and Duncan are about done. Yao is boring. Dwight has been awesome since stepping on the court.

I really hope Dwyane Wade goes to Orlando in FA to play with him. I think that would be a great duo.

They are also 2 insane shots from being up 3-1.

The Cavs have played as poorly as possible and have been all of these games. I don't know what to glean from that, but if you're a Cavs fan, it's something to hold on to.
