I don't know much about Kanter but statistically (assists aside) he looks similar to Zaza. If he has any ability to pass out of the high post he opens up the floor spacing and he's a younger version of Zaza. I know he's got a decent jumper. Would definitely do any of the trades mentioned including him.

That trade isn't even legal, and why would the Jazz give up a 1st + a player they just extended for two guys that are free agents at the end of the year?

Agreed with aValpo. If we were to trade Knight (Doubtful) it's likely to be a team contending for the playoffs and want that extra push. I just don't see a team trading for him knowing he's due a big contract, unless you're a team like the Lakers or Knicks who are interested in signing Knight to begin with.

Saw this on the trade and transaction forum:

Middleton/2015 2nd Round Pick for PJ3 and Lamb. Thoughts?

Hmm... That's pretty intriguing.

Considering Middleton is likely up for a decent raise, I might pull the trigger. I'm still intrigued with Perry Jones. Jeremy Lamb would be a nice buy low SG we could hopefully turn around with playing time.

Middleton seems to be progressing for us. Could see him ending up as one of the better swingmen off the bench or a solid starting caliber SG next to a non-Knight PG.

However for a team in our position I'm a bit concerned about locking up both Middleton and Knight to long term deals this Summer. Depending on the dollars involved they both could lose their asset value, and we should be consolidating assets targeting difference makers rather than accumulating role players.

Am I the only one who believes in Khris so much?
At least I believe in him more than Knight.

That said, the trade with OKC would be really intriguing.
No hay banda.

What do we think -- would Henson for Kanter be worth it / get a deal done?

I asked him about Henson/Clippers 2017 1st for Kanter...Hasn't responded

That would be a fair trade for both

I'd do that without even hanging up the phone.

Perry Jones looked great while Durant was down.
I still have hope for Jeremy Lamb.

I easily do it, and I even think that Jeremy Lamb is overrated and won't amount to much.

With Middleton, you're looking at a $6-8 mil per year price tag on a multi-year deal. Jones and Lamb are both still on their rookie contracts for next season, and PJIII is the highest upside player among those three.

Not sure I understand the appeal of PJ3. Can't stretch the defense, doesn't rebound, doesn't pass and doesn't create turnovers.

I think getting a center who can pass and rebound, even with limited offense would really help, both now and the long run. Is Kanter that guy, or do the Bucks wait till the draft? Zaza has racked up a lot of miles this season, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him hit the sidelines before long, based on his history. Henson is playing well, but he's it if Zaza goes down for any length of time.

With Parker, Marshall, and Inglis done for the year, and Larry out for ????; there are holes to be filled for several functions. Which one gets filled first?

I think he just needs some consistent PT. I'd roll the dice and see what he can do this year and next without having to sit behind Ibaka and Durant. He did look good in extended stretches when Durant was out earlier in the year.

Beats having to (most likely) overpay Middleton in free agency IMO.

What is Kanter's rebound rate and Utah's rate when he's on the court?

I can live with his lack of defense if he can help this team rebound.

What type of contract do you think Kanter gets this summer? I have a hard time gauging his value. He's skilled but not sure how many teams he fits system and roster wise.

His per 36 numbers and Rebound % have gone incrementally (slightly) down each year, which is a little concerning. But I think that's also due to Favors emergence and how often they roll with bigger lineups.

He's worked on his conditioning, gotten much lighter, and it's helped his offensive game and quickness, so that could be a factor as well. I think he figures it out eventually. Just need someone to help him get that "mean streak", because with his size he can flat out beat people up in the post.

Just a hunch, but I think Middleton gets underpaid this summer. He's not putting up a high volume amount of shots and his box score stats look underwhelming. I think he gets paid somewhere along the lines of what Meeks and McRoberts got, between $5.5-$6.5 million per over 4 years.

I'd be pretty happy to get him on that kind of deal.
