@dgaulmanshow: Had someone close to Mavs owner Mark Cuban tell me DeAndre Jordan is "really considering" Dallas as his new team. @BrettNBA

@BrettNBA: NFL star Dez Bryant and Chandler Parsons are expected to have a role in the Mavs free agency pitch to DeAndre Jordan, a source said.

Really, the only thing that makes sense is FA and Henson at C if we sign someone. Trade Pachulia or Plumlee and the other guy rides pine.

A big part of the problem with Zaza is that he got way too many minutes last year, and he wore down fast. Larry should have been 30min/game, and the rest to Henson & Zaza. Obviously, that plan crapped out. Zaza would be OK-ish if he were playinig 10-15 min/game - he can set a pick, and play enforcer like no one else on the current roster. He's apparently a good locker room guy too

Compound the complete loss of Larry, Henson's continuing inconsistency, and the best Center prospect being gone by the time the Bucks picked at #17 - the Buck's are still in a hole.

Can we get Aaron Rodgers to make a pitch?

Neither. A message to mister shark tank that he needs to be prepared to up his offer from the Mavs.

Same deal for BroLo. Schwartz is using the Kidd connection to drive the market price.

@espn_macmahon: Dez Bryant is reaching out to Cowboys fan DeAndre Jordan to pump up Mavs but not part of actual pitch. Maybe DJ can end Dez holdout threat.

I would not be mad with Chandler as long as we only pay him 10-11 mil a year and only a 2-3 year contract. That still gives you 6-7 mil to spend on a stretch 4 or 5 (possibly more if you can make a trade with Bayless/Dudley or Mayo)

@cf_gardner: Bucks will be active in free agency but DeAndre Jordan likely far beyond their reach. Re-signing Middleton a big priority and center help.

Also says that as of now, he doesn't think they have any plans to meet with Jordan

Seriously though, thanks for the nugget of information.

LOL touché... I just never ask this person for info, but I was confused about draft night and especially the Vasquez trade cutting into our cap space so I inquired. I was specifically told NO on Lopez, not what they're looking for at this point. What I was told also makes me think we don't really consider Jordan an option either because it wouldn't fit the mold. Value, short-term deals at C, and a DEEP roster is what it boiled down to. Not even sure if Chandler fits that but the agent thing makes me think we have an inside track to him.

Thanks for the info. What was the explanation for the Vasquez trade? It's hard to understand.

If we get a solid player in FA next week AND the arena deal gets approved, I will easily consider it to be one of the best weeks of my life.

Could the Bucks think that John Henson is our long term starting center?

That would make a Chandler signing make much more sense.

If our front office is watching him putting on muscle or making progress on his jump shot in the offseason I'd feel a bit better about this. Otherwise the short term vet plan is a bit disconcerting to me without a plan for the 5.

He did show some possible promise in the Chicago series, but I don't know if it's enough to solidify him being our long term center of the future.

I can't see Henson solidified as a long term 5. Rather it's about opportunity cost, similarly with Knight.

Maybe Henson showed enough for us to give him another season. Or maybe it's just enough that we won't trade him away without getting a great offer in return.

I think bringing in any of these guys artificially puts us in the 8 seed range. I'd pass and let this team naturally get better. This past seasons playoff run was akin to the FTD run. We need to not make the Salmons type move.. and let these guys grow into it.

I wouldn't be shocked at a 3 year deal with a 4th year team option. It seems every year players get bigger contracts than what people here seem to think they should get. Not just our team but every team

How does picking up a viable starting center lead to putting us in the 8 seed range. Especially with Jabari coming back, Giannis having another year and MCW getting a full offseason to learn with coach kidd. I think by adding a legitimate starting center we can compete for home court in the first round next year.

If anything, Chandler's statement makes me think he won't be coming here. "Humbled"? LOL.
