I cannot possibly overstate how amazing 2017 has been thus far for the kinds of music I like to listen to in the alt/indie/pop arena. I'm not even done posting new songs from the past - just figured I'd give myself a little break :D

ETA: ****, I miscounted. I didn't mean to create a new page. GO BACK AND WATCH THE 8 VIDEOS I JUST POSTED ON PAGE 14.

This one starts slow, but then builds until it reaches ridiculousness. Julien Baker is a special singer, and the sparse electric guitar chords remind me of the 90's alternative scene.

Not sure if anybody has posted this either, but Redbone is an amazing change in direction.

Ben Gibbard has written a couple of genuinely beautiful songs about buildings in his career.

I can't get over this song from Pinegrove. They did an NPR Tiny Desk concert at the end of last year and played it, 'Old Friends'.

Full performance:

Song starts at 4m6s:

It's beautiful. It's heavy.

Some old Augustana popped up on my Spotify Weekly. Always liked this one, never heard anything else of theirs.

First music festival in forever that both looks great and is a viable option for a Wisconsin guy.

This will be my 10th year going to Lollapalooza. It also might be the worst headlining list during those 10 years.

They sold out the 4 day tix yesterday. Sold out Fri and Sat this morning.

Still, if you haven't been, it is HIGHLY recommended. Has been my fav weekend of the year most of those 10 years.

That was off their first album with Boston. I actually preferred their second album: Can't Love, Can't Hurt from 2008. Almost every song is nice to listen to.

My wife and I went to the Andrew Mcmahon Concert last night at The Pabst Theater. She's been a big fan of his since the Something Corporate days and it's kind of rubbed off on me. His voice gave out mid show but he always has so much energy that it wasn't super noticable. It was a loooong show though. It started at 7 with The Night Riots, followed by Atlas Genius. Andrew Mcmahon finished the night off with stuff from his new album, 4 or 5 Jack's Mannequin songs, and even 1 Something Corporate throwback. It finished at like 10:45. For our Aussie friends......Atlas Genius was pretty damn good. I'd see them again. Also, That was the first time I've been to The Pabst Theater. It's a pretty nice theater and a good size.

That new Rick Ross is :onfire: :onfire: :onfire:

My one nitpick is the Chris Rock intro skits. Not funny or necessary at all.

Every time I see Banks my first thought is "I love Paul Banks" and then I'm -usually- "oh, right", but a lot of times I'm still "okay, okay, this is different but he'll come in soon..."
