Not usually, but with XRP being in such heavy demand I can believe it.

XRP would have nothing to do with it. The Ethereum blockchain is just bogged down.

If I didn't know better, I'd think you guys are just massively trolling me with all this crypto currency stuff. I'm trying to buy this damn XRP and dicked around to get the other accounts set up and funded and now bittrex won't open new accounts to even get at it.

Any other ideas?

I'll also add that Kraken won't let me get verified. And my bank (BMO) doesn't seem to be listed on any of the deposit sites.

Yup, I transfered BTC from Coinbase to BInance and it took about 5 minutes. Then I bought some XRP :)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

How do you want to fund it? If you want to use a credit card you can use Coinbase to buy BTC and then transfer it to BInance (or somewhere else) and buy the XRP. Coinbase does have an initial $300 a week limit on cards that will go up over time.

I was thinking bank, given I wanted to invest slightly more than 100 (which is what it is telling me is the limit). Is Binance similar to Kraken and/or Bittrex?

I can not stress how dumb this entire process has me feeling, but I still want in.

You should have transferred from Coinbase to GDX then to Binance. No fees!

Lol I already had money invested into XRP for somethings that i have read about it online and whatnot. Never really read this thread because investment in portugal in funds isnt that easily available as other places and i thought this was about it.

But now people here starting to come at the same conclusions than me (not saying they are right or that i'm an expert) about XRP makes me want to put more money into it. Must resist the urge. but oh well its not like its money that I havent loss in a lot worse ways.

I think the most problematic thing in crypto is knowing when to get out. The grouth isnt going to last forever of course, and we are away from losing a lot really fast just with legislation changes on EU or US

I'm considering putting some real dough in the real market next week. If people are going to get richer off the new tax plan, well, I'm people, too.

The fees are when you buy the original BTC on Coinbase right? 3.99% for credit card transaction

Pretty sure Coinbase charges for the transfer to Binance. Did you happen to notice if 100% of your Bitcoins went through to Binance or if Coinbase kept a little for themselves? I definitely could be wrong as I'm brand spanking new to all of this.

You're right, I didn't compute what it was but yes there is a charge. I know they own GDAX but it's weird you can do the Coinbase to GDAX to Binance thing with no charge. An extra hoop to jump through.

So is Binance absolutely legit? I feel like sending ALL of my personal information to China is just part of the troll job.

Binance is legit. But I recommend transferring your coins to an offline wallet. Don't keep them on an exchange unless you plan to sell soon.

No, I am doing all this in frustrating pursuit of XRP. So once I have moved from Coinbase to Binance, it will let me buy XRP, right?

It took me days to get registered for Coinbase. It's frustrating, but you get the hang of things pretty quick.

Yes I just did that today. Took a few minutes for the CB to Binance trans to go through and then you can buy XRP

"Knowing when to get out," is the most problematic thing in any investment situation. That's not specific to Crypto.

Interesting. Took me about 45 minutes including the ID verification. You do have a limit of $300 per week initially on a CC though.
