The rules state that when this happens, the team with the most "boundaries" (the cricket equivalent to a home run) wins. So there you go. England essentially won on a home run tiebreaker.

Feel free to talk about this at the water cooler with confidence.

It's like the guys in charge of making up the laws never expected this to happen in such a big game. Really **** way to not win the world cup. There's also a bit of controversy in how we even got to the first tie but it's pretty confusing.

It's like awarding a soccer game to the team that committed less fouls after being tied after 6 pens.

I hate the heat. After the 4th, I want fall. After New Year's, I want spring. I like nice 50 degree fleece weather.

Oddly enough, I DO think the team that won the most corner kicks should be allowed to pick which end and who goes first in a shootout.

Reward aggressiveness and punish teams that hold the ball hoping for PKs.

Yeah summer is trash for the most part. Give me those cool 50-65 degree days year round and I would be so happy.

You guys have no idea. DC has been 90+ and 80%+ humidity for all but like three days since I've been out here. I'm gonna have to completely re-stock my undershirt inventory when it's all over.

I'll take 90 degrees and ball sweating heat over -20 with -50 windchills.

60-75 degrees is perfect with a slight breeze, but I hate winter with such a passion that I'm soaking up every minute outside right now. I golfed Saturday and felt like I was sweating out booze and loved every bit of it.

Give me summer all the time.

These hot, super long days where it stays light until 8:30 will look even better in 6 months.

True, but I'll take 90 over even 30 degrees with no windchill. I hate the cold and don't belong here but family kept me.

Sure the real hot days suck but the nights are beautiful and winter sucks ass for the most part. Not **** to do besides snowmobile, drink and shovel. Late spring early fall weather is best though but I'll never complain about the heat because the winters are too long and you get stuck inside so often you go slightly insane.

Give me the sub zero temps any day of the week. You can always layer and deal with cold temps. When it's hot, there are only so many layers you can remove in public without breaking the law.

I wonder if the station director told Bill Michaels to stay off Twitter for a while.

55 is, IMO, the perfect temperature.

I ran over lunch today. It was "only" 97. The real feel was 104. The sun kind of actually hurts.

Summer in the south is hell. Fall is summer. Winter is fall. Spring is pollen.

Another thing about heat vs. cold.

In the winter, you can turn the heat to a reasonable temp and then start a fire or get under some blankets.

In the summer, even when you are inside, it can really suck. You're either miserable, or cranking the AC up and paying through the nose.

When I was little, we only had 1 window AC for the whole house. On miserable days we would stay at an airport hotel with a pool.

You can't even do that anymore in some places. Some hotels have a 30-mile rule because of people renting rooms for parties and causing trouble.
