More assistants should get chances to be head coaches. That being said, Griffin should give teams pause. He was an absolute disaster organizationally, tactically, and personally. He'll wind up on some team's bench again, but he will never get another head job in the NBA nor should he. Honestly, would be smart to start grifting colleges out of speaking engagements or something else with his PhD - a lot less work, and probably just as much money to be made.

You can't roll with Prunty, that would be basically throwing away a season when we don't have the luxury to do so. You bring in whoever you think is best for us to win a chip right now.

Good on the Bucks for failing fast at least!

Didn't get Nurse but did get Giannis to extend.

Nurse saw something he didn't like. Something that had nothing to do with Griffin.

Ya, the lack of Dame.

This hiring came BEFORE the Dame trade, when everyone on this board also thought this roster was massively flawed and destined for an early playoff exit.

That is probably what Nurse saw.

If my options are Prunty for the rest of the year or Doc for multiple seasons, I'd rather just ride it out with Prunty and go after a legit head coach in the offseason. Get Taylor Jenkins out of Memphis.

Give him a raise, make him POBO over Horst idc. He's just the best man for the job regardless of past circumstances and only guy that could realistically turn things around midseason.

I think it was more Horst was aware how bad the advanced stats for the D are and the internal stuff we didn’t know about (Giannis and Brook lost confidence in Grief long ago) and then Haslem was at that Cleveland game which was likely the last straw. Grief got to coach the Pistons games while they completed the search.

We will never know but Nurse is repped by Klutch. It seemed at the time he was losing the race and wanted pull out to save face since Giannis chose Griffin over him. Same thing happened with PHX

How is it throwing away the season any more than hiring Doc Rivers? Because he's on TV and has Milwaukee connections?

And it seemed like they had no roster flexibility until the Dame trade fell into their lap. And Nurse saw that Giannis runs the team, not the coach.

The funny thing if we hire Doc is that with 40 games to go, it looks like we're on a collision course to play the Sixers in round 2.

Doc goes up against the team that fired him, and goes up against the Coach that replaced him and the Bucks passed on. That would be some serious popcorn worthy drama.

Because he has won a title and they are not legally prohibited from firing him if he fails.

If you're just going to let Prunty coach the rest of the season...why would you even bother firing Griff?

Doc for all the crap he gets, actually has won...you have a better chance of winning with Doc than rolling with Prunty.
