I suggested Bobby for Gabe Vincent & a pick. Had a good audition tonight. There's your pg/sg.

"I credit my hard work over the summer," Portis said flatly. "A whole lot of naysayers talking crazy on my name. Every time I get on social media, every time I do something it's always somebody's saying something about me.

Portis made his first three shots before missing, and then promptly drained four more to go 7 for 8 from the field overall. He also went 4 for 4 from behind the three-point line and assisted on a basket. The performance followed up a 16-point night in Detroit where he made 4 of 5 three-pointers.

So what. This kind of shows me he doesn't get it, because someone like me was one of his biggest supporters from the draft to his signing to his 1st couple yrs here, & a way to fix this is supposedly get mad at others, then score the ball, instead of recover his perimeter d, rebounding to what it was, not get kicked out of games/t'ed, & keep his level in the playoffs (this is preseason). It's hard to trust him at this point, & he's not going to change that now, so I support trading him. It's good if this is (re)raising his value.

Ajax’s defense worries me more actually. It just hasn’t been good enough to justify mediocre offense much less the zero he’s been providing.

Otherwise I agree with you that the absence of aggressiveness by the hoop is a problem too.

This team badly needs athletes other than Giannis who can run the break and take it to the rack. PJ even was a big help just crashing the offensive boards.

I don't see many minutes for Marjon or Ajax unfortunately. Johnson will get scrub mins, but he should prob be given space to work on his game in the G League.

Screen navigation. Jrue like.

This kid is going to have Giannis playing into his 40s.

Wouldn’t that be amazing. He looks the part right now.
Missed the game, but can't help but wonder if you guys are getting me irrationally excited for AJJ.

100% that's our pick, if we get 1.

I was really rooting for Andre to be a player; he was a lot of fun to watch at UConn even though **** UConn. But yeah, in the NBA setting, I just don't think he's enough of a threat with the ball in his hands to utilize him on-ball, and his lackluster everything else offensively makes him difficult to play off-ball. He needs to turn into a DPOY caliber defender to be more than a limited bench role type of guy IMO and (1) that's such a high bar for anyone and (2) I just don't see that in him personally.

Biggest worry with AJ (you know which one I'm talking about) for me is the whole age-old debate of "can you develop touch?", because he seems to be back-rimming a lot of these layups and shots at/near the rim once he blows by the defense. Don't get me wrong, the speed and burst is bonkers, but this is also a guy who has yet to shoot better than 37% from the field and 60% from the line in the NBL, summer league, and now preseason so far, so I don't know if you can just completely write it off. Maybe he just needs to learn how to slow down and adjust mid-air better (TJ Ford had problems with this), but maybe he's also just a crazy athlete who doesn't have natural feel.

AJJ I am not worried about touch or anything really the first game which was his first preseason game he was 1-8 but missed easy layups but be real it was his first game ever in nba. This kid is just going to get better as he learns when to use his speed and I am not wasting him in g league he would be my back up pg with wright that’s only going to add to his confidence. He’s athletic enough to just dunk those open layups anyways but that one over AD was a thing of beauty.

Poor man’s Brandon Jennings. That said, he’s only 19 and he’s got some stuff you can’t teach. We will see if he can develop.

That's still moving on up on the Mideast side to go from homeless to poor man's Jennings in one preseason game. By the end of preseason he'll be rich man's at that pace.

And in the long run I think that's what he is. Because Jennings never established himself as a winning player. He chucked & played in pass or score mode, instead of taking what's there. Johnson has more feel. And he has positional size.

Like AJ was supposed to be our long range marksman off the bench, but it's been a struggle so far this year.

Johnson has more size and speed. But he's got to learn to compliment what's happening on the court.

In any event, do not have any issues with the pick.

Our 8-10 is not so good that AJ shouldnt be given plenty of opportunities to play. In fact, 9 & 10 are not very good at all lol.

Keep AJ in Milwaukee. He's our ticket to an X factor that's currently on the roster.

All I'm getting is from this conversation is that all we need is for BroLo to train with Bogut to learn to perfect the 'missed-layup' assist put-back play off of all of AJ Johnson (rookie)'s missed layups....

Legitimately there are too many AJs, this cant go on!

Jennings was a lot smaller than Johnson and had zero finishing ability, Johnson is going strong the basket and not shying away from contact. I'm excited to see what he can do with a couple years of good nutrition & in an NBA weight room.

Horst is only interested if they project to be below-average bench players.

What Bobby did last night as a 6th man is exactly what I want KM to do as a 6th man.. come in, be a problem, be a matchup nightmare for a tired-ish starter or some bench dude and rip nets his entire stint.

Keep the starting lineup as it is right now and get the defense anchored with them. They will be most likely to play full minutes the whole year - 60+ games starting together with few minutes restrictions. You have 2 HOFs, 3 point shooting, slashing, defense, hustle, speed and quickness.

KM lineups are working great that day? Adjust and let him close those games Kobe style. We get a nice lead and need to clamp defensively? Get the starters in.

This way forward gives us the best chance at the consistency we need to ROLL over teams in the playoffs. Playing hot potato with the starting lineup again and having every excuse why the starters aren't clicking because they haven't played together and we fail again. Set egos aside here.

Khris is always gonna be in the closing lineup. This whole argument is nonsense.
