Yea he's probably not doing the best move for securing another contract of any significance, but he also probably doesn't care at this point since he's made so much money

I honestly don't think he will lose that much money. He will get get a ton of exposure over there. If KL even plays 50% of the games he is on a 50+ win team in the West in the brightest market in the NBA. If they do well and make a run in the playoffs, he will get a lot of attention.

ETA: as a person in his 30s with a young family, I'm not taking a job assignment unless it guaranteed a big change in my finances. As someone with with $110m guaranteed, the difference on his next contract is likely to look small. I don't think going to MKE is going to make an 8 figure difference on his next contract compared to going to LAC.

Yea I forgot to include a line that he's probably accepted he's at late career bounce around stage regardless of where he goes this season. Chances of another 3-4 years 50 plus mil type deal probably aren't happening regardless.

Your Kawhi mention to made me also think its also a good thing there that KL will miss 30 games where Beal moves up to the #2 type guy giving him plenty of run

That's not even disrespect if you simply think another option would be better but rather the shear vitriol to the idea and how they "can't do this or is bad at that"

Like what kind of players do you expect for the vet minimum? No **** they have warts

I want them to be a positive contributor to a potential championship winning squad. With Westbrook, I'd rather NOT sign anyone than sign him.

I certainly won't get too upset over most vet minimum signings but I mean, come on.......Russ? It's the telltale sign of a stupid basketball franchise. How many times are teams (and fans) gonna keep falling for this?

It's not even close and I don't even like this made of glass version of Brogdon that much.

Its a lot like signing CP3. If another team does it, it feels desperate and sad. If its your time, eventually youll talk yourself into it.

nobody on this board thinks green is actually untouchable. you just dont throw him into trades to dump salary tho. to me hes worth more than that 31st pick by a mile. roughly the same tier as turner behind giannis considering his ability and expected contract

Except even old ass Chris Paul has a long history of being a positive basketball contributor on the court. But maybe they leaked this "rumor" to make the inevitable CP3 signing not seem so bad so uh.....well played Doc.

You want a guy who will hustle up and down the court the entire time he is out there...you take Russ.

If he'll come here in the cheap do it

Brogdon defending SF and playing some spot pg duties while mostly shooting threes like his first stint would be amazing. We'd have more minutes for him than his body could handle.

I like that idea a lot

I like the idea of Brogdon in this team. I would be really happy adding him and Amir Coffey to round out the roster

Also it'd be appropriate to refer to Russ as old ass Russ. He's 37 two weeks into the season. He doesn't have warts. Warts have him.

And that's before you get to the fit with Giannis, which is the worst fit imaginable.

Brogdon or just wait for the trade deadline. No way I'm including AJG for Kuminga or Wiggins. I'd take Beal too but I don't think there is any shot of that given his past comments.

No to CP3 and Russ rather just roll with what we have and hope for development.

Jokic has done us a huge favor by saying that he's not signing an extension just yet. It means the media will start to focus on where Jokic will end up, and stop focusing so much on Giannis like they do every off-season.

I'd take CP3 over Russ.

I'm usually pretty indifferent on vet min guys, but hard pass on Russ. He's the guard version of Kuzma. A terrible fit around Giannis

Russ is the perfect guy to have on the floor when Giannis is on the bench.

Doc would legit start Westbrick/Prince/Kuz/GA/Turner just to spite all of us.

I actually wouldn’t mind Russ but I’d prefer others over him. His role was way to big in Denver but he wasn’t that bad. Unfortunately, he’s not really doc proof, so while i think in a more limited role he’d actually be beneficial, doc would lean on him way too much, to the point where we would be incredibly annoyed.

Russ and CP3 have both helped younger players as well. Either would be nice to have around KPJ/Rollins. Just not a dominant role on the floor. It seems like both know what their spots are at this point in their career.
