Once again, as I said...the only way to make this team a place where players want to stay/go is to get a true centerpiece player. Not draft/trade for another Brandon Jennings, or Michael Redd, or Bobby Simmons etc

Why would that player stay? Paul didn't want to. LeBron didn't. Howard? Bosh?

If you are going to use the logic of "don't trade for good players because they'll leave", you certainly have to believe you can't draft a player and expect him to stay right?

No you're absolutely right that you cannot expect them to stay. Howard, LeBron and Paul didn't stay because their teams failed to surround them with enough talent to win (or perhaps they just failed to do enough to win, it's debatable). But it gives you a window where you have an elite player to build around and take your best shot at building a championship team. What you do with that window is up to the GM. If you can pull it off then you have a good shot at keeping that guy.

Probably they still lost. 2 points is 2 points.

Does every single American poster on this board need to ask this? Seriously...

I don't think they know that footy seasons about to kick off so we're all ditching these suckers to send our attention elsewhere anyway!

If I know anything (and I don't) it's that pre-season form = actual season potential. Therefore, Adelaide Crows for the flag!!!! (Kinda an Adelaide fan so would actually be OK with this)

It's hilarious to see people try and argue Ellis as a positive because he's "exciting".

I wouldn't mind Ellis on this team, I definitely don't think he sucks, but I wouldn't trade Bogut for him.

If Ellis was closer to the $3 million per year salary like Curry than maybe I'd be interested.

I don't doubt the guy who posted the Ellis rumor, but I think it would be funny if he just made it up to add some interest into this thread considering how all we cared about a few pages ago was crawfish.

Did a little investigating, they lost by 9 points that game. Monta took 31 shots.

I think we all should start accepting the likely reality that we're gonna ride it out and chase 8th seed glory yet again. I just don't see Hammond having the balls to trade Bogut or Jennings any time soon.

Maggette also went 10-14, had over 30, more than 5 assists and boards.

If he was 23 and we had Curry instead of Jennings I may even be interested as well. Fact is, we already have Monta Ellis only younger, a better passer and a better defender.

BUT HOW ELECTRIC IS HE!?

Jennings and Ellis shouldn't be compared anyway. Jennings is four years younger and makes about 1/5 as much.

More than one insider on this board has said that Jennings and Hammond are tied at the hip. They're both going down with the ship while Hammond rearranges the deck chairs.

I could see him trading Bogut. The reasoning wil probably be

"We've made it to the playoffs without Bogut this year and the last time we were in the playoffs with Bogt we almost got an upset! Adding another piece could make us a second round team!"

If the warriors owner nixed the 3 way trade centred around Monta and bogut, it seems weird to then consider it with the magic removed and sjax thrown in. If true, he must really hate the magic.

I really wish though if we were gonna get Kwame Brown that we could keep Bogut.

That way years from now we can tell our children "there was a time when the Bucks had two overall #1 picks on the same team" and trick them into thinking we were good.

By a factor of about 100 I'd rather have Curry on this team than Ellis - for a lot of the reasons already mentioned.
