Morrison was probably my favorite college player of all time but you can't compare him and Jabari just for the simple fact Morrison did not have an NBA body and he blew his knee out to boot. Not to mention, Adam is diabetic as well. Being an athlete just wasn't in the cards for him and what he did accomplish was pretty amazing.

I think Parker is 10x better equipped to be an NBA player than AM, I agree. But Parker sharing some of Morrison's inability to create space troubles me.

I don't see that as an issue with Parker

I mean, I'd love to agree. I just think you can get 80% of what Parker's impact will be for a lot less than the No. 2 pick. I think Parker can fit well between Giannis and Sanders... but so does healthy-Arsen. Or so would Saric. Or so would Payne. Or Gordon with a Corner-3. Or Kyle Anderson going the Diaw route. I think Wiggins has a superior chance of being a star defender than Parker has of being a star offensive player, and Wiggins in transition and playing a secondary role will bring far more to the table than Parker defensively.

I'm gonna pretend I didn't read any of this and focus on the report that the Bucks will be hosting the three players I like more.

It's difficult for me to believe the Bucks are really gonna sh**-can Hammond if he's the face of the organization during these meetings.

I agree. Gotta think about what the prospect would take away from that too. Has meal with GM, GM drafts said player, GM gets fired.

Yeah, I think Hammond gets the full year. Not exactly sure how he will be evaluated as new owners seem not to mind if we pick top 5 again in 2015.

Hopefully, he's evaluated on his ability to draft and acquire more young assets. Multiple 1st's would be a great start.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

hammond getting the year is fine. there's not even room for FAs and he'll be instructed not to sign any. i don't have a problem with it at all.

hell, everything he's been saying sounds like he's all about build through the draft philosophy. if he does the right things, who knows. highly doubt so many people respect him for no reason.

drew needs to be canned asap though. goodness gracious there's no excuse. i'm pissed we already missed out on quin snyder, one of the top guys on my board. more and more candidates are gonna be going. i want giannis and our new draft pick to have structure too, i don't want a million coaching changes with these guys. start it out right.

I agree.

I think the new owners are in a tough spot. They didn't really have much time to get their own guys in, plus there dosen't really seem to be a ton of options right now. Hammond has been scouting these cats most of the season with the crap season we had. He isn't all that bad on the drafting side of things.
Hammond seems like a pretty down to earth guy. Very likable as a person. If Hammond was able to convince the new owners that he was handcuffed buy kohl to the point where he was ineffective, he could stick. If you start off with a failing plan it is almost impossible to succeed at it.

Depending on who is out there, I could see Hammond sticking around another year or longer if he can prove he can build through the draft effectively.

How much of that is him just going along with what his new bosses want? Lasry and Edens have mentioned building thru the draft from the very beginning. Of course he's gonna say what they wanna hear in order to save his job.

As others have eluded to in the past, even if Kohl did give Hammond a "win now" mandate, he sucked complete ass at doing so. In a terrible Eastern Conference, at that. The guy is terrible and needs to GTFO...yesterday.

IMO, Lasry and Edens really dropped the ball by not cleaning house, ASAP.

Eh, not really a fan of Hammonds taking them out to dinner. Prefer it to be the new owners selling their vision of the franchise to them.

Agree. If they're the ones, in fact, making this pick, you'd think they'd want to be involved in this area of the 'recruiting' process.

Maybe they'll take them to Kopp's when they come to MKE for their workouts.

The problem is that we do not know how much Kohl meddled. If Kohl forced him to trade for bone headed players, I am not going to blame him for carrying out the orders.

The one thing for sure Hammond has done well is identify talent in the draft. For us, that is likely the most important aspect for a GM. For example, it is possible that last year with his 2 picks Hammond drafted the Best 1st Round Player and the Best 2nd Round Player. At minimum, I am content with how we draft.

I'm OK with Hammond doing dinner with Jabari and Embiid as long as they meet with the owners this week in Milwaukee. Perhaps that was the plan--for JH to meet in California with Embiid, Parker and Wiggins and give them an idea face-to-face of what the trip to Milwaukee will entail. Hammond seems to be Lasdens' puppet at the moment. Since we are having all of the top four guys in Milwaukee, I guess it is working for now.

I'm delighted Embiid is giving us the time of day, though. I was skeptical he'd work out here, much less have an awkward dinner with Hammond in California. While many of us (myself included) think the Cavs will ultimately select Embiid, obviously his camp is not as certain.

They are doing their due diligence in case projections don't go as planned. Exum's camp on the other hand isn't letting him work out for anyone past Orlando. Should make things interesting if the Magic snag Smart or the Sixers take Vonleh. Exum SHOULD be a top four pick...his workouts are going off of that. Embiid SHOULD be the No. 1 pick...but he's still working out with us and dining with us. Dare we overspeculate and wonder if his camp might know something we don't?

They could get a happy meal and that'd still be better than sitting in the president's booth at Ma Fischers with creepy Kohl sitting on the same side of the booth as you

Anyone worried about Wiggin's explosiveness causing him to have more knee injuries and have them earlier? I feel like Parker's game is the most fluid out of the top four lessening the possibilities of injuries, thus a better chance of a successful long-term career.

"Boris walks into the gym one day wearing flip-flops and holding his customary cappuccino, which was a staple for him every morning," Griffin recalled. "It was during pre-draft workouts, so he sees the Vertec [machine] and asks what it is.

"We tell him it measures your vertical leap by determining how many of the bars you can touch. He asks what's the highest anyone has ever gone, and we tell him Amare' [Stoudemire] cleared the entire rack.
