I'm starting to get to the point where my first option is to trade down from #1 to #2-4 and pick up an extra first or young prospect. The top 4 are so close for me that I'd be fine moving back a little if we can pick up some assets.

Does it really matter what that fan said?

Get a grip Marcus.

Yeah, I assumed that he must've said something really offensive to provoke a reaction like that from Marcus. I still think it's better to walk away, but in the heat of the moment, that guy should be grateful that Marcus didn't kick the **** out of him on national television.

I just want to add that it seems like that POS fan forgot that Marcus is a human being with hearing, because he wilted like a flower when Marcus stepped to him.

Also, it's always bothered me that some fans act like they should be able to say whatever they want without any response. It's like people forget these players are human beings who have emotions. Just because you pay to sit in the arena doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want to these guys. If you don't like that, then you shouldn't complain when a player calls you out for your idiocy.

So, while I think Smart shouldn't have shoved that fan, I can't blame him for reacting the way he did. Where I come from, his reaction to being called a n-word would be considered mild.

Switching gears quickly from the Smart drama, but did anyone see Jabari's highlights tonight? Just a monster game...what did he have, 29 pts and 16 rebs? Several transition poster-izing throw downs and tough angle layups. There's no doubt that once Parker gets in an NBA training room he is going to cut out any baby fat he has left, and muscle up. Guy's going to be a beast, and with Giannis and Larry/Henson, just as we all thought back in November, Jabari could be exactly what we need. Parker's highlights against BC tonight, and Embiid's average last few games, have officially changed my vote back to Jabari (barely), and Wiggins is nipping at his heels. Bucks need the alpha wing folks...

1a. Jabari Parker
1b. Andrew Wiggins
1c. Joel Embiid
4. Dante Exum
5. Marcus Smart
6. Julius Randle

If the guy said what Smart said he did, then I love Marcus Smart now.

I mean, I don't want him drafted by the Bucks, but he can be our Tony Allen after he's non-tendered following his fourth season.

Sure it does. People need to be held accountable for their words. Like others have said, if he truly did say what Marcus said he did, he's lucky to have left with all his teeth.

He's an idiot. The fan is obviously an idiot as well. Smart should be suspended for at least 5 games. You can't go after a fan. Period.

Fans are always going to try to hook players. You can't attack people in the crowd. Just be the bigger man and move on. Smart is a guaranteed millionaire. Why risk that for some redneck talking smack? I say the same regarding people fighting and pulling guns out. Why risk going to jail over such petty ****?

I don't think Smart did the right thing but I don't blame him for the way he reacted. If you've ever been a victim of racism you'll understand.

I wouldn't be too harsh on any suspension, maybe one game or something b/c players should be bigger than that. However, I can't blame him too much. Heat of the moment, the frustration of being on the losing end of a close game late and have someone call him something derogatory. It's not like this is Marshall Henderson, where he is egging them on all game.

I don't have to be the victim of racism. Everyone is mocked at some point in their life. Everyone has had their cage rattled by some a-hole. Violence is not the answer for it. Like I said, this is why we have such violence problem in this country. People responding with minor slights with fists or their gun. Attacking a fan just makes Smart look out of control.

I was going to post something fairly long about the Marcus Smart incident, but this isn't social studies. Allow me this, though. For a so-called post-racial United States of America, the empathy gap does not seem to be shrinking at all. Kind of makes me sad and everyday I worry about how I'm going to have to explain it to my incredibly awesome biracial sons.

If Orr really did call Marcus Smart ANY racially-infused derogatory word (or phrase), I would not be surprised. How could anyone be surprised? I WISH WE LIVED IN A WORLD WHERE WE COULD BE SURPRISED! I also wish Smart hadn't reacted the way he did. But I understand why he did. We should ALL understand why he did. Or at least try to.

I think Smart is the one that should be grateful that didn't happen.

Anyone remember this?

Not the same as shoving a fan, but on the same order of magnitude, IMHO.

I recall how everyone was up in arms about this. Bogut was the clear #1 that year, but this may have been a part of the reason Marvin Williams went ahead of Paul in the draft. Can you imagine if the Bucks were trying to decide between Paul and other players and the Senator saw this? He may have vetoed considering Paul just for this.

Paul has been "pretty clean" after this incident. Prolly the good influence from his long lost twin brother Cliff.

How this will affect Smart remains to be seen. I like him as a player, but presently have him no higher than 5.

I hope he gets his act together and cuts the crazy ****. Larry has enough issues at present. Not sure the Bucks would want to take on another "perceived" head case player regardless of talent level.

Trying to give this incident a positive spin, maybe this incident will scare us off from drafting him when we inevitably get the 4th pick since we're trying to have good-attitude players.
