They have a couple of volatile players, a very head strong head coach, and one of those volatile players seems to already not like Karl. If things start out poorly over the first half of the season, the potential for an implosion looks pretty high.

yeah at this point the sixers might not see that pick next year because the Lakers will end up top 3 in the draft.

.... or it will be the 4th pick and I'll be crushed since my 2 favorite teams are the bucks and suns and they decided they wanted Brandon knight and mcw instead of that pick. Next year's draft doesn't look very good but 4 is still valuable.

Omri Casspi might be a decent fit. Thrived under Karl in Sacramento where he apparently wants to stay. Unrestricted.

Clipps in full on scramble mode. Doubt plums or Zaza have much value but I'd lob a call in if I were ol Porky Pig.

I think he is making $11.5 in a contract year. Pretty sure he'd be a rental.

Now that the Lakers struck out entirely, they are going to command one hell of a tank to try to keep their pick.

Give Clippers Parker Henson Plumlee Mayo JOB – for Griffin

Unless you think Parker is going to surpass Blake

That'd be really bad for us since we control Parker most lkely for like the next 7 or so years whereas Blake probably leaves in 2 when his contract expires.

Posted this on the suns board but want your opinion.

National media and fans seem confused as to why lma is even debating between the suns and spurs. Seems like and easy decision... and I say that as someone who lives in Phoenix and has adopted the suns.

But I think it ultimately has a lot to do with money. Word is lma wants a 2 yr deal with an opt out next summer to really cash in when the cap explodes and he's over 10 years of service. Well the only way for him to cash in for a true 5 year max with full raises next summer is for Portland to do a sign and trade on his 1+1 contract this summer . Without the sign and trade he loses full bird rights unless he signs a 3 year deal.

He could do next year at around 20 then sign a ridiculous 5 yr 160+ mil contract next summer.

What I think might be happening is phoenix had talked to Portland and they would do a sign and trade for markeif morris who has some off the court issues but at 4 yrs 32 mil his contract is a bargain. Where as San Antonio will need to give up draft picks to make Portland accommodate this deal. That's what's probably going on right now as San Antonio and Portland negotiate to get lma what he wants.

if lma gets the 1+1 deal it's a big risk for who ever gets him since he seems like the type who likes the fa process.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this and lma will take a 4 yr deal but if he does the 1+1 keep an eye on what the Blazers get for making it possible.

Well they couldn't officially do it for another 5 days regardless, but there really aren't that many RFA.

Out of the top 50 or so FAs, only Kanter and Reggie Jackson are big names left that haven't already agreed to resign. After that you have KJ McDaniels, Teletovic, Norris Cole, Cory Joseph, etc. Not exactly the big names everyone is clamoring for.

A) have you taken your pills today?
B) Griffen is not as big a star without Paul.
C) Parker is going to be a stud in this league for years to come. No more Parker trades please.

The sad part for them (and us), is that it's really hard to tank that hard. Philly tried as hard as one possibly could, and they still came up with only the #3 pick two years in a row. It's going to be very dispiriting when the Sixers get the #4 or 5 pick for MCW

Someone better explain the plan to Kobe. They are in no man's land and I'm going to love every second of it even if it means lamenting the fact we don't have that pick.

I love that players seem to be making more educated basketball decisions than just going for the big market. The Knicks haven't won in like 15 years and the Lakers are in the beginnings of a rebuild. Not very attractive it doesn't appear for big name FA's. I am kind of surprised NY landed Lopez. Not sure they win a ton more. As for the Lakers, I actually am a Kobe fan. I hope he returns and does well. Like to see him go out on a high note. May not happen of course, but I wouldn't put it past him and that could cost them that pick. Oh well. I still take the MCW gamble and not the pick.

Good going on Cuban's part landing one of the prize FA's. I like that guy and the Mavs. Happy to see Ellis gone.

I went to the Magic board but didn't see any discussion of him.

Did catch that they are looking for a backup PG.

Maybe something like a Bayless + Plumlee sign and trade for KOQ?

If we could get him without giving up value that would be better, but given the crazy contracts being handed out I don't know if the Magic let that happen. On the flipside though i don't know if they want to pay much themselves to keep him.

With Orlando spending big money on Tobes and then bringing in CJ Watson, wonder if they would match a 3/15-18M deal on KOQ?

Maybe send Plumlee/Bayless over?
