Ted Davis getting raw dogged from Bucks organization

Wish I could say I'm surprised, but this is very on brand for them

Getting some replies that Ted may be an anti-vaxxer, I have no knowledge or way to know if this is true or not

That's the only acceptable reason to me why Bucks are not including him

Something about Ted's retirement was a little fishy to me but no idea where the smell's coming from.

Ted has made some pretty dumb comments about COVID on his radio show so being an anti-vaxxer fits like a glove.

Never liked the nicknames he had for players anyways. Cya.

From her website:

Lisa Byington is a trailblazer in the broadcasting world. Most recently this past March, she became the first female play-by-play announcer to work the men’s NCAA basketball Tournament for CBS and Turner Sports. Previously to that, she helped open the doors in the college football and professional sports worlds. In 2017, Lisa made history as the first female play-by-play voice for a college football game for the Big Ten Network. Shortly after that, she was a part of an MLS game (and what is believed to be) the first all-female broadcast of any of the five major men’s professional leagues. In the last two years, she has filled in as a play-by-play for some Chicago Bulls television broadcasts, becoming one of the few females to do play-by-play on the NBA Circuit.

Lisa worked the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo as a men’s and women’s soccer play-by-play. In 2019, she made her play-by-play Women’s World Cup debut for Fox. From 2017-2019, Lisa worked as a basketball sideline reporter for the men’s NCAA Tournament for CBS and Turner Sports.

Lisa began her broadcasting career with WBKB-TV in Alpena, Mich., which at the time was the second-smallest market in the country. Her next move was to Big Ten country and WLNS-TV in Lansing, Mich. She first appeared on the Big Ten Network during the network’s opening football weekend in 2007, and she has been a part of the FOX Sports and the Big Ten Network lineup for more than a decade in a variety of roles.

A two-sport athlete at Northwestern, Byington played soccer and basketball, helping her teams advance to the NCAA Tournaments in both sports, and earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition.

Idk. Seems like a guys Johnson hire where they are trying to make a splash versus someone that cares about the team. What happened to Johnson? Did he want the job?
Well at least better than Novak.

Is Marques back for sure? I haven't been following closely but they seemed to be waning him off.

Who would they hire that would "care about the team?" Unless it's a local TV sports guy it would be someone from the outside. BA was from the outside. Ted Davis. She may or may not work out but I have no problem bringing someone in like her. Now if she calls games like Johnson, going crazy when the opponent makes a good play, then forget about it. The way he slobbered all over the Bucks and Giannis in SL I figured he was angling to get the gig, at least part time. Thank God they didn't do it.

I would think if he were retiring he would have announced by now. He's always given several games off each year (unfortunately subbed in with Novak). He's 65 though, he probably won't be around much longer.

He can still dunk and will announce until he's 90.

Some of the comments on Twitter and Reddit… misogyny is sadly still alive and well.

It will be interesting to see if she actually does the full 82 (minus national games) or just some of the games.

Gus Johnson is a horrible fit for the NBA. Much better suited to college football and basketball.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

She has a cool Doris Burke voice lol. As long as it doesn’t sound like I’m listening to the other teams broadcast (looking at you gus) then i’m fine with it

Good sign that she rose through the ranks quickly and did so without the benefit of nepotism or star power. Hope she acclimates herself nicely and does not dip into the Renee Montgomery Pamphlet of Catchphrases. Do we know if the Steve Novak Municipal Grievance Postgame Rodeo will return with Craiggers and White Dario?

ETA: Oh, she's been working broadcasts since 2007, thus less meteoric and more seasoned. Whatever. Seems qualified, wide variety of experiences, etc.
