Or he is just a deep, deep bench two way player?

Somehow I doubt that we view a guy who hasn’t been able to stay in the league is an upgrade to Craig. Axel probably gets about as many minutes as he did in his first Bucks stint

That's fine, Toupane was one of the better players in the G League this year, and he did it with defense and off ball movement. He deserves another NBA opportunity.

he rebounds and shoots better. probably not well enough to earn minutes.

So according to the USA nba Olympic committee, the bucks have 3 of the top 50 players in the NBA (US only players).

Short Answer: No

Long answer:
I was living in Lithuania during his Zalgiris stint, and unfortunately he joined the club I support in Greece next year (Olympiakos). He was a good 3pt shooter from the corners, below average to average from any other spot on along the 3pt arc. He can't dribble or pass, so his offense in the half-court is pretty much non-existent. Above average perimeter defender for Europe but not very strong, he was pushed around against bigs. Average rotational player for EL, he won't hurt you much in a 15-18 MPG role, he is unlikely to make any difference either.

I don't think his D will translate in the NBA, where he won't have the athletic advantage he had vs white european wings.

Very Kidd-era signing

Toupane played really well, unexpectedly, in the G-League bubble. I have my doubts that this translates (he looked really subpar every other time I've seen him) but he looked good by doing the things teams tend to appreciate – playing defense, moving off the ball, shooting well, making the right pass, running the floor – and that's probably why you guys wanted to see if he can provide that in spurts in the NBA.

Is there a good euro we could sign? Vasilje Micic?

Going for high floor over high ceilings on two ways is the right approach though. Took a bit of time but glad the Bucks learned.

Checking either box is an improvement. Cam Reynolds checked neither and yet somehow made it through the whole season last year.

Obviously get the best player you can get but the way the contracts are designed (immediate RFA with non-bird rights) it favors short term deals.

Who do you think has more value around the league: Donte or Melton?

We had Alex Toupane before? I am surprised that I didn’t know this already.

If the Bucks make it to the Eastern Conference Finals with the current roster, congrats to Coach Bud.

If the Bucks make the moves that it will take to make it to the ECF, congrats Jon Horst.

I'm torn. I like Melton a lot and he looks to be on a very favorable contract but I have Donte as a better player with a higher ceiling. Depends on what you think you can get Donte to sign.

I think you got it a little mixed up.

If the Bucks make it to the eastern conference finals with Bud as coach, it will be a miracle OR he finally scrapped the drop down defense. The defense sucks and will not change unless the scheme changes.

Last night is a prime example. Drop down defense the first three quarters and switching the last quarter, including the last play on Westbrook. Last quarter we give up 24 points, first 3 quarters are all 30 plus. The roster isn't great, but in the playoffs, the benches (except under Bud) are shortened. Stop making excuses for Bud, as if the roster allows wide open shots after a defender is screened. Nothing to do with the roster.
