Giannis stalls the offense by standing around, demanding the ball, he doesn't really do anything off ball screening wise or cutting to force the defense to react, he's slow asf to pass so even when the defense does shift they have already recovered by the time he passes. He also effs our spacing by moving towards the PnR handler trying to ask to get the ball back which brings his man into help position and shrinking the space for the dribbler to do anything. Also anytime he shoots a pull up jumper is pretty much an objectively bad possession unless there's literally no time left on the shot clock. Factor in the travels and offensive fouls and he wastes a large amount of offensive possessions despite his insane efficiency (which is buoyed by being arguably the best transition finisher in history). Also because of his absurd demanding to play on-ball, he diminishes Dame's biggest strength as a player and relegates him to a spot up shooter, so there is no additive to value offensively to having those 2 players together.
This is basically the long way of saying, the offensive issues are Giannis-centric almost entirely. We have seen that Giannis-centric offense does not remotely translate in the post season vs good teams, that approach does not lead to effective offensive play despite his huge volume. Dame on the other hand is able to lead a strong offense running things through him, his issue is that he is not a good defender. The obvious solution is that offense runs through Dame as the main handler, lead guard, primary decision maker, and Giannis falls in line behind that. Giannis is a DPOY caliber defender and in theory, on paper, should be able to function beautifully playing off an elite guard. But his approach is crap far too much of the time, just an incredibly selfish and stupid brand of basketball. Like a bigger, more talented Corey Maggette on offense way too much of the time.
