In ten years from now there will be a statue of him outside the stadium and he'll (most likely) be considered the greatest Wisconsin pro athlete of all time. He's extremely loyal to the small market organization that drafted him. He's already brought a title. He plays hurt. He's never been anywhere close to a scandal. He plays with great joy and effort.

But there are 5-10 guys here that say because he's a bad (pseudo) GM, and a coach killer, and his brother takes a roster spot that we should trade him and start over. Its frankly the worst sports take I've ever heard.

You say bizarre, I say embarrassing. But yeah, both. Like you said, if it was just one or two annoying posters, fine, but you're right, its probably 5-10. And before someone barges in, drooling, with "GIANNIS ISN'T ABOVE CRITICISM" you most likely aren't the ones we're talking about. Unless all you do is criticize the man.

One of the two who wanted to trade Giannis also said Grayson Allen was an elite shooting guard.

I have a lot of connections in the contracting world.

- BP had major plans at a huge renovation at this current residence that was about to break ground. He was scheduled recently to go into a certain place and pick out selections for said project. That has come to screeching halt. The project has now been reduced to making misc. repairs throughout the home.

- PC - the word is in the same circles is he expects to be gone.

Windy saying the Bucks have dozens of trade scenarios that have been pitched, including three team deals, trying to get a perimeter defender.

 No problem.

I met with the guy this morning who was scheduled to meet personally with BP last week. BP has gone dark. Now he(BP) has someone dealing with it for him just to get a few things repaired at his house. This guy is also a very big Bucks fan so he knew I would love this little nugget of info.

It makes sense to put a hold on major renovations until after the deadline. If he's still here tomorrow night he can resume.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I know Bobby and Pat make a ton of money but this situation does really suck for them.

The whole "We would've won 3 championships with Jimmy MF-ing Butler" have been fun. Like sure, we also could have won 3 championships with our current squad if things rolled our way. Or zero.

Or we could have traded for Jimmy, had him play 55 games for us, then win 6 playoff games over 2 rounds where he scored 19ppg on below average efficiency and then sign with the Heat that off-season.

Yup. Both found a home here, really like playing here and the fans love them. And they won rings. But if the right deal comes along they have to be moved.

It doesn't mean one will pan out.

Bottom line is that our tradable assets really aren't that attractive. Guys like Marjon and Andre will not be valued to their potential so we need to be careful sending them out for some mediocre guard w a known ceiling. This is extremely difficult.

Doc has the defense looking functional again. If we get healthy and add a vet in buyout i still love our chances, even if we dont get that trade jolt we all want

I do find the "We would have won 2-3 titles with Jimmy" thing weird since people act like he didn't get out-played by Bryn **** Forbes the postseason we actually won a championship. Why stop there though? If we just draft OG in 2017 instead of DJ Wilson, I'm gonna go ahead and say we win the last 5 championships in a row. I mean, you can't prove me wrong!

Ron Swanson wrote:A veteran rotation wing with a proven playoff track record making sub-MLE money ($9 mil) does not require attaching an asset to move. A proven playoff 20 PPG scorer on a sub-$30 mil expiring contract next year does not require an attaching an asset to move. This is the part where you guys do that thing where we act like every player we sign to a multi-year contract is the worst asset in sports that nobody wants and it's literally never true. What was even the last "bad" contract we had to pay to move off? Snell?

Mids has a player option for 25/26. He's worth his contract as long as he's healthy for the playoffs and performing. Probably most valuable to Bucks (as 3rd scoring option in playoffs) and less so to any non-contender. He's not a 70+ game player anymore and thus would not have the value as a Van Vleet type on the trade market. He would command some sort of asset back, but not considerable given the small set of teams that would find him valuable as a 3rd / 4th option.

Pat, I think if you had to get off his money for some reason, nobody would take his 18M due the next 2 years for free. You are either taking a similar player/contract back or adding something (2nd rounder) to sweeten the pot. He obviously looks cooked, but his shooting splits are still decent enough to give him a neutral pass in some combo trade.

I think DJ Augustin was probably viewed as a overall net negative in the Tucker trade, but not crazy.

Suddenly felt an anxious pang that perhaps nothing will happen. Didn’t that go down a few times in the Hammond era - endless speculation and we stand pat? That’d be deflating.

Should've just tanked last season since we lost in the playoffs anyways, definitely won the lottery, and grabbed Wemby and we could've won the next 10 championships too.

ETA: Ah ****, think last year was a NOP pick year - guess we should've just killed the whole Pelicans franchise to take our pick back first.

Eh, in previous deadlines I'd agree, but with all the smoke it just feels inevitable that they're making a move here. I think there's too much of a prerogative to both maximize the current 1-2 year window as well as consolidating all the fringe asset stuff for a Top-6 or 7 playoff guy before the cap restrictions prevent us from doing so. I'll really be stunned if we even just do something small like Marjon for Kris Dunn and call it a day. Feels like you really need to take advantage of this last opportunity to move salary around.

I wish they were both playing well enough that we didn't feel the need to make a move. Sadly not the case but championships are forever. I'll always have extremely happy memories of both before any bad ones.

Not sure we have the same doctors up here that those guys have access to down in Miami.

Absolutely. Especially with his name being floated out there so much.

It does suck too. I love Bobby and I love PC, they helped bring a Chip here. Nature of the business I guess.

The Bucks also have to deal with the casual fan who will have zero idea why Bobby would be traded and that they don't get to yell Bobby - Bobby! anymore.

Would be at least fitting their last game was vs the Suns.

No on Wiggins via stein

The Warriors, league sources say, are expected to explore their Andrew Wiggins trade options right up to the deadline.

Far less clear: Can they find a trade opportunity more palatable than just keeping Wiggins? The best course for Golden State, with Wiggins in Year 1 of a new four-year, $109 million contract and well short of peak value after struggling for the past season and a half, might prove to be trying to build off some hopeful signs recently that he is finding some form in a frontcourt trio alongside Draymond Green and the emerging Jonathan Kuminga.

I shared in the enclosed link Tuesday that the Mavericks' reported trade interest in Wiggins has been overstated. Later Tuesday, after publishing that story, I was told the same about Milwaukee's reported interest in Wiggins.
