I will say the opposite of Spanoulis ... this team has no future...
Defense doesn't win games unless your offense is consistent and working well.

Hard to succeed when you're thrown into a sh--sandwich.

If I'm Giannis, I'd be happy to move on from this team. Sheesh.

Very hard to waste an efficient Giannis but Greece did a fantastic job doing it these 4 games. Can tell he was tired/frustrated as well which didn’t help things but they need to do a better job at utilising him in future tournaments.

But they built the wall!
It's insane, how awful an offense they ran with the way he can score.

This Greece team just wasn’t any good, besides Giannis. Quite a feat to even make it to the quarterfinals. Glad I don’t feel like I need to watch them anymore, especially Calathes.

Greece just had nothing alongside Giannis. They started well, but Germany shut off the water on those other guys and there was nothing.

Germany could go under every single screen set, and there was no threat of an outside shot. They’d tag the roller with multiple bodies, and Greece would be unable to take advantage off the pass, too. Greece just has no outside game as a team, but they also don’t have the athletes to reliably get into the soft spots of the defense other than Giannis who’s seeing multiple bodies on every move.

Overall, though, great effort from them. They came out on fire, and were flying around on both sides.

Giannis overall did everything he could.
I blaim mainly Spanoulis ... As I have been blaiming Horst and Bud and Griffin and hope not add Doc in this list. Have shooters at all time around Giannis. As I have said Fiba Rules permits the opponent whole team to park their @$$ in the paint which is where Giannis operates. You have to have 3p shooters to punish every wall and double team on Giannis.

A setting like this does highlight the issues of using Giannis exclusively as a big.

It’s hard to get touches as a roller, since teams will always dig down on the roller and close up those passing lanes, and doubling on post ups is the easiest place to double in the game. You need to utilize Giannis in multiple ways, and that includes as a ball handler, and make the other team constantly feel him.

This sounds absurd, but honestly I wonder if the Greek offense would have been better letting Giannis try to find a rhythm on faceup midrange jumpers.

He looked like he had decent touch today, and nothing else was working as a team. Lol

Correct. This is a very smart observation.
I don't understand why Bud and the Bucks quit the Giannis on the FT area and using the dunker spot. It got us the championship. I wish we had some who can actually DUNK on the Dunker spot instead of Pat C.

I wish Calathes retires from the NT. I would rather watch Toliopoulos shooting logo 3s then Calathes throwing the ball to the edge of the backboard. This

Team sucks, obviously Spanoulis sucks, at least we saw Giannis have a run and he comes back fine.

Agree. Letting Giannis handle the ball eliminates most of the thousands of turnovers Greece committed in the 2nd half.

It’s Patty’s time of the year. We should all be thankful that the NBA playoffs aren’t in August.

Good lord.

Every tournament we accuse the NT coach. The reality is Greece has stopped producing talented players since many years (apart from Giannis obviously). There are not even some offensively talented youngsters coming along.

I think Giannis should retire from the NT. If in 3-4 years we somehow (magically) have a competitive roster, he could return for another tournament

Some of these charge calls have been really terrible throughout the tournament.
