Reggie Miller: What are you thinking?

Barkley: All our guys do a great job, he's just not at the top of my list.

Unbelievable.

I completely missed Barkley saying that. Had the damn channel on but wasn't paying attention. Damn.

I know I'm late to the game and all, but I wanna keep this post around just to show how truly stupid it is.

With this logic, because last year Celtics fans watched an NBA championship team means they have more basketball knowledge than, say a Bucks fan.

For those that missed it, it was the most immature thing ever. Ernie was talking about how it was their last telecast of the year and started thanking all the crew. He made it through about 5 guys and then said some random dude's name. Barkley performs the "fake cough" insult, calling him a pussy under his breath, like you may have done in high school if you were a jerk. If was like a record screeched to a halt. All they could muster was Miller asking him "What are you thinking?"

It was unreal.

Wow. Barkley must have lost some money to the guy at some point in the season.

This is what I said back at page 115 from this thread:

Sigra wrote:Old Cavs team would beat this one. Daugherty is right. This Cavs team is nothing special but they have one of the worst competition this year. This year there are only 6 good teams in NBA and 3 of them have serious injury problems (Rockets-Yao-TMAc, Boston-KG, Orlando-Nelson). I can't remember when one team had such a easy first 2 rounds not because they are good but because their oponents were terrible. Pistons had no fight left. They didn't even show up. Terrible chemistry problems after Billups-AI trade and rebuilding. Then injured Hawks who are not good even when healthy (I think healthy Bucks would be better this year). And then they will get injured Boston or injured Magic. What a lucky bustards. 72-10 Bulls team would sweep those Cavs and 1996-97 Utah would beat them as well. Lakers with Shaq and Kobe, Spurs from few years ago, Rockets from 1995, even Pistons with Bilups and Big Ben.

Well played, Ilhan. :) I didn't think that Cavs team would win but I did say it would be a very close series. I'm not sure people here are old enough to remember how good those Cavs teams were. They were very good. They just had the misfortune of being around during the Jordan era.

Great job by the Magic. Easily the better team and well deserving of a spot in the finals.

A little late with this post but anyways, uh oh, LeBron is staying in Orlando with his mom while the rest of the team goes back. I can only imagine how many stories out of this news ESPN is cooking up right now.

Its pretty crazy to think that the Magic have done all this (destroyed the Cavs without HCA, now going to the Finals) without their all-star point guard.

Big guards (Pietrus, Lee and in a sense Hedo) >>> little guards (Mo, Delonte, Gibson)

They could have used Larry Hughes here....(only half joking)

Rafer's nothing special but he's solid. That was an outstanding move by Otis Smith. When it's all said and done that could end up being the best move of the year even if Rafer wasn't the most talented player acquired. I'm not sure the Magic get to the Finals with a Johnson-Lue PG duo.

Way back in January or so I posted that I heard the Cavs were still interested in Redd because they wanted some size in their backcourt. There was a report which came out a few weeks after that saying the same thing. Then the Cavs tried to acquire RJ at the deadline. I think we saw firsthand in this series why they wanted someone like Redd or RJ. Not only do both bring size but their ability to score would've been huge - especially with Mo and Z basically being non-existent for most of the series.

It's a great night when the overrated Cavs go down once again.

Welcome to the offseason!

Agreed. They needed a PG and they got one. Rafer is one of those guys who won't kill you but won't win it for you either. I loved the move but no doubt Jameer is better. But my point was that the Magic just completely outplayed what was considered the best team in basketball without their all-star at a premium position. Very impressive.
