This...sadly. It's so stupid/obvious that it reeks of horrendous meddling. I can't bringmyself to believe Hammond is dumb enough to make this move without serious pressure from above or even the man behind the curtain himself demanding it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a single poster here who approves of this trade. Either Hammond is incompetent to a degree that not even we could image, or he has been given explicitly clear marching orders. A trade like this, to me, is in support of the latter. Hammond just received nan extension, so there would be no motivation to pull a panic trade like this.
This trade reminds me of when the Celtics traded Joe Johnson for Rodney Rodgers and tony delk. We are going to be haunted ny this trade for years.
