Jennings would stunt the growth of any of their young guys, while help them tank, possible they'd do it...

I think Ellis is better player than Mayo. However, for our team Mayo could be more valuable because he can shoot better. Especially if we still have Moute at SF next year.

Rather take a chance on a young PG.

I do think though that Hammond will move Ersan this offseason for a wing.

True. :) However, I'm not sure that's the type of return Ainge would be looking for in return for Rondo.

Ellis is more talented but that's ultimately meaningless because his Basketball IQ is so poor. In terms of pure basketball talent Monta does indeed have it all (or quite a lot). However, there's a lot more to this game than just talent.

Agreed.

I think Ellis simply will continue to take 3's and long 2's as he has his entire career. He will go on hot streaks and he will go on really long droughts of inefficiency as we've seen.

Mayo is a better shooter. Certainly more efficient. He doesn't have that cat like quickness, but I think he is a more pure type SG. Even though he's smallish.

Mayo's biggest issue from what I can tell is maturity. That can change, we've seen many players turn the corner at his age.

I'm sorry but anyone that thinks Jennings/Wolters and Moute/Giannis is solid is out of their freaking mind. We are so far away from a good team still it's not even funny. How can management not comprehend this. Mayo is far from a saving grace and the other 2 positions on the team are horrible on the wing. I'm not a Mayo fan really but I do see him as 1 of our better players now and definitely our best perimeter player. And no I'm not bragging or happy about that. This team is still multiple moves away from being a joke still. Resigning Jennings and starting Moute at 3 only keeps us where we don't want to be.

Right now we are only marginally better than Detroit in the division. Cavs, Pacers and Bulls will be better than us if we head into next season without doing something significant to the roster. We either want to be worse than Detroit next year or attempt to be better than Indiana/Chicago. There's no freaking happy mediums in that regard anymore.

This is just not a bad signing at these years and dollars. It just isn't.

The problem again is the "plan". We've got to do some serious additional "win now" moves in the next week for this to make any sense.

We aren't done.

Jennings / Wolters hasn't happened yet.

Moute / Giannis isn't what I would expect us to roll with.

FA isn't over.

We clearly have a log jam in the FC.

We are far from done this offseason.

Can Gerald Henderson play SF? I'd look at putting out an offer sheet on him as well. And I'd explore Moute for Granger if the Pacers would entertain it and Lt. Dan's knee passes inspection.

What's the logjam at FC? Sanders plays 35, Eran plays 35, Henson plays 20, Udoh plays 10. It adds up to over 96 min but injuries happens so they will pick up minutes then.

I guess it all depends on your take of Henson. My hope is that we insert him as our starting PF and move Ersan. No need for 2 starting PF's especially when you are so thin elsewhere.

Move Ersan and maybe another asset for a starting SF.

Then you go with Henson / Sanders and Udoh backing them both up. Of course you will need the Veteran depth at position, but that can be addressed towards the end as we finalize our roster.

Unless there's a great deal for Ersan I think you move forward with a three man rotation of Ersan/Sanders/Henson.

Ersan and Sanders start and Henson backs up both the PF and C slot. As it stands now he still needs to bulk up so thats why its nice we still have Udoh. Long term though Henson should have no problem playing 15 minutes a night or so at center.

I think he split time there last year. Since mayo got 3/24, I would offer 4/22

don't want Rondo but could live w/ ersan/BJ for RR

How much do you value a lotto-protected 2015 1st?
could use that to entice Nugz to make s&t for Ellis instead of outright signing.
Ellis(s&t) 1st(lp-2015) to Denver for Chandler

I'd pair up Ilyasova and Udoh and see if there was a team with a SF they'd be willing to deal. Not sure you'll have any luck but that's what I'd be doing.

Then sign Zaza to back up Sanders and find a PG to replace Jennings.

Eagle....you don't have to keep giving up that number one pick for WIlson Chandler. Denver can't pay Ellis more than the MLE. Would have to be a sign and trade.

Under a win-now mandate I'm not relying on Henson to start.

Start Moute at PF then.

If I'm going win now, I would not trade Ersan unless I'm signing Josh Smith. Which of course I would do.
