Games over, very pleased with our defense and how Giannis played, all of that while we can expect more improvement.

Lmao you Greek fans are crazy. All love though.

Those of you that are watching all of these full games live, what are you expecting from him this season?

The highlights are nice but don't make me super excited. He's dominated based on his athleticism but a lot of things look awkward. You can tell he is still growing into his body and needs to continue to improve his jump shot before we start thinking he is a starting all-star or anything.

I agree that it's premature to anoint him a star already, and that he has a ways to go, but I have to ask what looked awkward in those highlights? I thought he looked fluid in pretty much every move he made.

I guess to me he looked off-balance in a lot of those spin moves with loose handles. He has gotten away with it a lot in the NBA but I think even more so in these games where there is more spacing and less athleticism from the opponents.

I think that's about as balanced as you're gonna get on a spin move

First of all Giannis didnt play much as the coach was pleased with him and how he performs.
In the few minutes that he played he was the best player in the court, he was the main reaosn we got ahead in first half and the second half.
He dominated in the defense, pressuring ,chasing stealing and blocking. offensively he made a corner shoot and the crazy stuff with spins and fakes.
You cannot get the clear idea form the highlights tho, you can watch the game or the minutes giannis played and get how good he was.
The web tv got a 24 hours rewind so if you want to watch the game you can still do it, just make sure you get a VPN.
Game ended 2 hours ago btw.

I also watched the game and apart from being a fanboy, I have the following observations to make:

1) Giannis was by far the best player in the court whenever he played.

2) His moves are similar to last year, with more control and less hesitation. That is:
a) Spin Move: He initiates it seamlessly off the dribble so it's harder for defenders to position themselves properly.
b) 5-10 ft. Fadeaway: He looks more in control, actively seeks contact and tries to square off when releasing.
c) Jumpshot: He doesn't shoot midrange jumpers at all. I believe that it's either because he doesn't want to use it before the next NBA season starts or he'll start shooting in the Eurobasket.
d) Long-range shooting: He shoots 3s and long twos (stepping on the 3p line) without hesitation which is great to watch.

3) It was really interesting to see that while Giannis played at the 4, he had defenders following him in the perimeter thus improving the Greek NT's spacing. They respected his shot and that's another thing that I'm glad to see.

11 points in 12 mins it seem like hes been averaging almost the same amount of points as he has mins so far besides that one weird game he had. I think once the euro basket starts he should get 25 to 30 mins per game so I will predict that hes going to score 20ppg to 22ppg is that realistic or not

I'd expect 14-17 points myself, on account of the games being both against better teams and more closed, defensively.

Competition in Eurobasket is tougher plus he's not really featured on Greece yet .. Id expect 13-15

See I thought he looked solid. In control of his spin more, jumper was automatic and he was crafty under the basket. He looked slower but I think that was because he's worked out he doesn't need to be as fast against these type of players.
