He was simply the best singer of his generation - not the best frontman - but the best singer. Maybe the best pipes ever in his prime. Hopefully, he is saying hello to heaven.

Yeah man, I was bummed to wake up to that news yesterday. I was genuinely surprised of his death, and even more so by the suicide. I kind of felt he had everything together, but obviously there were deeper issues going on. I watched some footage of the last show and he did seem a little off, but could be reading more into it.

Regardless, I'm a big Soundgarden guy and yeah Cornell could wail. Being a fan of that "Seattle" movement it kinda sucks that the only 1 front man of the "big 4" is still with us. Sad story. Feel bad for his family.

American news has been a bit unwatchable lately. So I've been tuning out.

Just saw the news. **** sad. I had to go out and drink after reading this. ****.

He was one of my favorite all time voices of my generation.

Are you **** kidding me? This hit me like a brick.

I haven't listened to my grunge/alternative stuff in years and literally last weekend I made a Playlist and started listening since forever. I was sitting there thinking Cornell might be one of my favorite lead singers all time.

And **** one week later he's gone. Wtf.

Speaking of lighting the Internet on fire, anyone remember this? If you haven't seen this, it'll blow your skull.

Layne Staley is my favorite from that grunge time.

So I had never heard of Francis and the Lights until last night, but it popped up on YouTube because of the Chance connection. That said, this guy is on some Peter Gabriel s**t with this song and I think it's an ear worm.

Jumping in late on the Chris Cornell tragedy here but I think this video is worth sharing. The first CD I ever bought was Superunknown and I always loved his voice from that point on. I thought this was a really cool guest performance from him that took him outside of his wheelhouse a bit. Really highlights the voice though.

I'm seeing Fuel, Marcy Playground, and Dishwalla at a bar on Sunday. This will be the best concert ever.

Yessssss. So good. So relevant.

Stoked to have Arcade Fire back with a good tune. I didn't like Reflektor and couldn't get into their last album. Now I'm pumped.

Manchester Orchestra hinted at new music today, as well.

This is by far the best band I've heard in years. The drums might be the best I've ever heard period, regardless of genre. Instrumentation is as good as you will find in any band. Some weird fusion of math rock, jazz, pop, and r&b but their entire 4 song EP is killer.

Check these guys out.

Saw Ryan Adams last weekend in an awesome show. Seeing Laura Marling in about 10 days time. I'm a happy lad at the moment.

Also, anyone else heard Liam Gallagher's first solo single 'Wall of Glass'. It has well exceeded my expectations.

I didn't know Liam was releasing anything. I'm still hoping for a new Noel Gallagher + High Flying Birds album soon - they're pretty good (with some great tracks).

Love Laura Marling's new album. Can't believe she's still only 27, quite a catalogue she's building.

To be fair, Reflektor is their last album. Maybe you meant that you didn't like the song and the album, which I'd mostly agree with. "Afterlife" is probably their best song they've done off of that album, otherwise I'm only lukewarm on the change of direction they made.
