So does the new arena need less employees or are they just hiring new (cheaper) instead of retaining current BC employees?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

They don't need staff on hand to fix failing plumbing, roofing, flooring, heating/cooling, electrical, etc anymore.

Yeah that's true. If the cuts are in maintenance that would make sense.

My one complaint and hope for the staffing of the new arena is they don't use the 'Non-Profit' groups running the concession stands.

I never understood that business model concept.

The groups get a percentage of sales in exchange for working for free. I don't know how the numbers add up, if the BC saves money or not.

But it can be frustrating because they don't know what the heck they're doing. They get a few minutes of "training" before the doors open and there are a couple of full timers at each stand but it slows things down no doubt.

They do the same at Miller Park. Most of them are fundraisers for local clubs like youth sports teams where parents just volunteer.

It’s also a giant tax write off.

Lambeau concessions are always volunteer groups. Seems like it is the norm.

Even 6 flags has volunteer groups in their food stands and games. I've worked there a couple times for fundraisers. It's incredibly common and apparently it makes sense financially. Probably a combination of cheap labor and massive tax breaks like an earlier poster said. It is kinda sleezy if ya think about it.

I worked the concessions for about 5 games a few years ago at Miller Park for fundraising. They do it through a company called Delaware North, and it was absolutely miserable. This was during the season where they were giving away free concession vouchers thanks to Ryan Braun so lines were a mile long. They pay you a percentage of total sales at your stand and there was a minimum amount they pay per game worked ($50 per person working I believe), but they try to nickel and dime your organization to keep you as close to that minimum as possible. We did it for one season and haven't been back.

I think if MillerCoors is involved and it is not the Miller name, they use the Leinenkugel's name.

Hopefully it works out in my schedule, but season ticket holders get a hard hat tour in 2 weeks.
