I really, really don't get the love for Mikal Bridges. He's allright. Not a lockdown defender, not an elite 3 point shooter (brings the ball slightly to his left and can't shoot off the dribble reliably) and he's not going to expand his role in the near future based on his limited ball handling ability. If you want such a player, trade for a better version of it in RoCo.
Trae Young changes how your entire team plays and Wendell Carter is a do it all big. Like this equation doesn't even fit on paper.

Jrue Holiday is a good comp for Thomas imo. Not sure if that's his "ceiling" or not but I can see similarities in their style of play. I'd be perfectly fine taking him at 17.

I think I'd take Trent and DDV over Thomas but hes definitely in the next mix.

That is not what I'm implying. Why are you so defensive? Instead you could point out why you indeed are rightly high on Bridges and I am wrong. But no, better drop some one liner.

I think initially Thomas doesn't really translate a whole lot as a on ball type guy like Holiday was from day one. I think he could develop those skills further but overall I'd be looking at him as a Avery Bradley/Norman Powell type guy. To me he really seems like the RHJ/OG type guy from this draft who knows his game from day 1 and will work on furthering that role. Probably doesn't have the potential that some guys have but I think he makes a bigger dent in that potential than most guys.

The more I read about Spellman the more I like his fit here. bigger stronger guy who has range and won't get bullied in the post. If he can turn that fat in to muscle I think alot of teams will regret passing on him. His age is my only worry.
Bucks fandom bringing me happiness still seems like a dream.

So then Divac will have Doncic, Bogdan, Hield, Fox and Mason III for basically 2 starter spots. I wonder if he's willing to let one go for something reasonable.

Bogdan played 59% of his minutes at SF last year, and Doncic is technically big enough to play some PF. So they could run some Fox/Hield/Bogdan/Doncic/Giles

Really? I didn't watch the Kings much, Bogdan was always SG everywhere else I've seen him and Doncic really needs the ball in his hands to have an impact, he's a like Ben Simmons in that sense.
Makes sense though now that you mention it, the Kings don't really have much in the SF position...

Anybody else listen to LOB today? They had Cole Zwicker on from The Stepien and his favorite guy to pair with Giannis is Melton. Great handle, defense, and rebounding for a guard and apparently he spent his year off working with a shot coach which greatly improved his mechanics.

Yeah I've seen the Bradley comp too and I don't mind that either. Right out of the gate I'm not sure you want him doing anything more than trying to create transition offense from his defense but long term theres value with him as a complimentary play maker. That's where I see the Holiday similarities with Thomas playing off the ball in sets but being able to create for himself and others in the flow of the game. I thought he was excellent at Creighton doing that from what I've watched.

Obviously him being the primary ball handler in college dictates a lot of the game flow from his tape but like you said, if he works on that he can excel later on because the ground work is laid out. He has the ability to be a "caught lightning in a bottle" type pick from day 1 too.

He also could just as easily flame out right away like a Demetrius Jackson did and never really pan out. I was also very high on Jackson so who knows.

I apologize, it was a dick response. I’m just not going to put the effort into composing an essay/post defending the guys that I would trade up for. It’s simply that I like those guys and think they could make the Bucks a better team. Obviously I don’t know what it would take to move up and grab one.

I think one thing he has going for him is I really think he's a 3+D guy with the size to stand on the wing. Think it's a lot easier for a a guy like Jackson to flame out being pigeon holed into an NBA point guard. But yeah, he could definitely be a nothing or just a dude like Justin Holiday or something.

Does anyone think any of the potential players has a shot at contributing next year? Kidd wouldn’t have played them not sure how bud is on rookies. Depends on the position as well

That's always hard to say. Requires an opportunity and then seizing the opportunity.

It's fine.

I don't think it's likely that Mikal gets better in the defensive aspect in the 3&D than Robert Covington (mostly based on his physical profile) so his best way to get to a higher level than RoCo is by being better on offense. And the avenue to that is by displaying any ball skills e.g. handling, advanced passing, shooting off the dribble, etc.. Though Mikal right now is very far away from getting to a point where he can impact the game with those skills. Thus I'd say it's highly unlikely that he'll be an impact player on offense other than shooting semi open 3's and cutting to the basket - basicly what Covington does on offense.
So with establishing RoCo as his ceiling, the question is: Would trading up to draft Mikal Bridges or trading for Robert Covington cost less? With LeBron possibly joining Philly and a bunch of forwards on their roster already I don't think it's that unlikely that RoCo is obtainable in a trade - possibly even at a lower price than Bridges.

Also this article is a good read regarding Bridges: https://www.thestepien.com/2018/05/02/mikal-bridges-really-top-10-talent/

I'm pretty interested in Anfernee Simons. Seems like a smooth dude.

Assuming Bledsoe and Brogdon are the starting back court next year, do we think Thomas could realistically challenge Delly and Sterling for time off the bench in the full rotation? I accept the fact he probably comes in as the 3rd PG with no role/G league for the greater good of his long term career but I want to believe our pick can come in and challenge right away for minutes. Who has the greatest chance at our pick to be that guy? Thomas is 100% a candidate on need and possible BPA.

From the ringer mock draft:
"Displays good passing vision in the pick-and-roll and in transition, though he’s not a primary ball handler due to his average handle"

Oh, the ambivalence.
