Did a player leak the Bobby stuff or did the team just not notice the RING cameras lining the Vegas locker rooms?

Epicurus wrote:When Dame went to the Bucks, I emailed someone then with the Bucks " I say fire the offensive coordinator if this Bucks team averages less the 160 pts. per game." He agreed.

My point related to this topic is the amount of Pacer points didn't surprise me, but the paucity of Buck's points against the defensive mediocre Pacers did. The offense is not close to maximizing the offensive firepower, even when it reaches 120 pts.

Appreciate your insight again Epi

Does Middleton watch the Bucks much? What made him think, with us having Dame Lillard on our team, he should have the ball on the last 2:30 as the PG? There's a YouTube of the last 2:30; if you only watch Middleton (and Beas for that matter) the whole time it's a complete sh#t show like they had no idea what to do.

Prez wrote:I’ll believe they’ll fire Griffin (which they definitely should do) this season when I see it. National media is really starting to talk about it now which is meaningful but the optics of it are still probably too tough for Horst/ownership to pull the trigger now, unless the behind the scenes stuff is even worse than it seems.

Problem is Giannis/Dame are still gonna muscle their way to wins for the foreseeable future and our record is going to look pretty enough for the same “we’re X-Y and we haven’t even figured it all out yet!” bull **** to keep being pushed, while the same problems persist but it becomes too late to make the change midseason.

I generally agree with your reasoning, but I will say that Horst has shown himself willing to make tough, dramatic decisions when needed to take the next step. The bigger question for them might be who can replace Griff in the middle of the year.

Yeah, we have a very good offense, but there’s still a lot of low hanging fruit out there.

We should be number 1, and that has to be the bar.

We have two top 10 offensive players, each of whom have been the engine for 3 top 5 offenses prior to this season. Dame also had a fourth, but that was in year two, so I don’t think he was quite the engine yet.

Those two players operate largely in different spaces on the floor and theoretical should mesh perfectly. They may need a little push to fully get there, but this team is still leaving a lot of points on the table.

Can someone tell me what was the worse defensive rating a championship team ever had?

The 2001 Lakers had a defensive rating of 21st. But they are a major outlier. The 2023 Nuggets were 16th. Everyone else has been top 12 at minimum

Fwiw the Bucks are currently 23rd

Everyone knows that the team defense has to improve, but I'm also not ignoring that a lot of it (especially in transition) is on players just being **** lazy and seemingly not taking the regular season seriously. Griffin probably needs to reem some of these guys out in practice more, but you really shouldn't have to tell a group of this many veteran NBA guys to simply get their asses back on defense. Everyone talks about the "low-hanging fruit" on offense, but if they just clean up the stupid transition stuff, then that easily puts you in the 12-18 range rather than the bottom third of defenses.

Not giving up a layup after getting a layup has got to be the lowest hanging fruit out there. Giannis comments on not being organized, this all points to Grief.

Started in on Rusillo's pod. Says he and the Ringer crew were only a few seats away from Haliburton's dad. Said Hali's dad was taunting Griffin, and kept saying "Keep playing that zone!, Keep playing that zone!"

In a hypothetical situation where the Bucks say "screw it" and offer Stotts to come in and coach this team.

Does TS consider it or does he shake his head and politely decline?

Thank you for the continued insights.

Yeah, I think that is why Indy does better in a single elimination tourney than a seven game series. By game 3, you don't get caught sleeping as much on those leak outs (not to mention more intensity/effort in the playoffs)

I love that we play the Pacers again Wednesday.

Not saying that to say we'll beat them, but it will be interesting seeing what if any adjustments are made playing them so soon after yesterday's game. Going to be pretty damn concerning if we're getting caught sleeping in transition again against this team less than a week later.

Maybe if his downtown condo isn't subleased. LOL! I doubt if the front office is forgiving of his departure. Crazy year in Cheeseland.

Holy **** did the Kings whiff on trading Hali. I know it’s framed very much as a win-win trade for both, but it’s not even close. Sabonis is a solid player but Hali is now a legit MVP candidate this year if he keeps this up.

Kings would never admit it but I bet they’d much rather have Sabonis and Hali than Fox.

Yeah, I don't get how people say that trade was a win-win for both teams. I didn't think it was a good trade for the Kings when it happened, but I didn't think Hali would ever be an MVP candidate level player when the trade happened. Now it looks really bad from the King's perspective.

Crazy thing is, Bucks probably could have gotten Hali for Middleton if they had made the offer back in 2022. We were fresh off the championship and that was when Middleton was still Middleton. A franchise like the Kings would have probably jumped at the chance to add an all star veteran with championship experience.

The zone was the only thing on defense that gave us a chance.

If I got wasted the night before a 2pm game I too would want to play zone. How many guys were salivating at extra 100k and an entire weekend in Vegas if they lose?

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
