Wow, that is lame, sorry. Somebody had to do it.

Do you want Mayo with that ?

Funny, I was thinking about Yi on 2k8, for some reason they had him wearing 11. Total brain lock on my part.

If only Kevin Love was on that team. You could have Gay Mayo Love Sessions every night.

After initially being against this, I'm now in the "why the hell not" camp. I didn't realize we were so tight against the luxury tax, and with Sessions not being a Skiles kind of PG, he's likely gone anyway. I think Sessions could play very well as an attacking PG alongside Gay and Mayo. I was strongly against taking JA, so at this point I don't care if we trade him.

As for Conley, there is really nothing positive you can say about his play in the NBA so far. I thought he was a great prospect coming out, so maybe a change of scenery is needed. He also better fits what Skiles wants out of his PGs, so he could play very well in our system, even if he never becomes a stud.

I have a question for those saying you don't trade JA and his potential for the "bust" that is Conley. Save for 15 games his junior year of college JA was not a good basketball player. He was one of the worst players on the court in SL, was abysmal in preseason and has looked gadz like during the regular season.

Conley to me hasn't been impressive, but he has been a lot more impressive than JA and is younger.

Not to mention Mike Conley Sr. probably had a basketball in jr's hands the second he could walk. JA has been playing the game for how long now?

So, do we have a trade or not? I agree with steger's post above; people shouldn't be very worried about losing Alexander.

If he can handle the ball and dish it out like this on a regular basis, then maybe i'll warm up to the idea of trading lol.

Think that is good, check this one out ...

I was one of the guys that wanted Conley back in 07, more so because I wanted Mo gone. :)
But I feel that a Conley/ Ridnour backcourt is terrific. Even if that means giving up on Ramon who I have loved as a player ever since he started playing in Bucks games late last season. And with Luc playing like he is (what they hoped JA would play like when drafted), and the possibility of bringing back Ersan who probably is just as good as Joe, then it is worth it. It sucks because I really like both guys a lot, they're both humble and want to work hard to improve.

As far as a draft pick if it's a 1st, that would be a steal, because the Grizz are like bottom 3-5 in the leaugue. But if it is a 2nd rounder it is going to be a very high 2nd round pick (like were Sessions and Moute were drafted at.)

I would love it if it goes down. Jon Hammond is frickin' awesome!

By the way, I think Conley could defiantly be in the Skills competition at the All-star game!

I said yes, assuming we get either Memphis' 2nd round or Lakers 2010 1st round pick.

You would think this would have to be announced prior to the game. Look at how loud this is on the interenet, you know the players know. And the way Sessions has been playing the last month the last thing we need is for him to be distracted by this. He'd be terrible if he knew about it.

Did the Yi/Jefferson trade just happen? or was there a lot of build up like this? I only ask because I was on my honeymoon and out of the loop on that one.

If this deal turns out bad like we think it might, this move might be a big reason Hammond gets fired eventually in a few years. I hope he is right about this but man trading a much more proven performer for a guy who hasn't shown anything yet and a first rounder who even though I don't have much faith in him, has the skills and work ethic to also develop into a good performer just seems way too risky in my book.

Perhaps we have an answer as to why the deal isn't done yet. Maybe the Grizzlies are using the Bucks' offer to get a better deal from another team. This is from Marc Stein's chat today:

Nina - Memphis: Any truth to the Mike Conley to the Bucks trade rumors?

SportsNation Marc Stein: (5:40 PM ET ) Definitely being discussed. Of course, now that the world knows Conley is in play, who knows if the Grizz will get an offer they like better.
Nothing will not break me.

It just happened. No real build up or leaked info like this rumor.

That is really funny, I was on my honeymoon when the Mo trade went down. It was hell, I caught a quick flash on ESPN that "Mo williams was now on the Cavs" and that was all I knew for 3 days in Hawaii! I was never able to see what we got in return till I got home.
