Yep. But it depends a lot on the intensity you do it. For example Plyo, apart from Yoga, its the workout i do best in P90X (not counting kempo, cardiox etc.)

Eat smart. That is THE best way to lose weight. Eat plenty of vegetables and stay away from fast food of course. Also, add in some cardio. Outdoor running is the best to me, but a treadmill or anything similar will work as well. I know this all sounds cliche, but it is the best way to do it. Just don't cheat on your diet too often.

LP I'm not an expert and I understand you are trying to put on good weight but you might be over doing it with the protein.

3 protein bars a day is too much, too much protein is not good for you and can make you put on bad weight if you over do it.

Everybody is different though but just wanted to give you a heads up on that.

Going to work out right after work. So around 5:30 or 6:00 to 6:30 or 7:30. That's about the only time that I have to get it in.

i was just thinking about it, i tend to work out at like 8:30 to 10, is that bad?

No, there isn't a bad time to workout.

To you dudes trying to lose weight, don't go too low in calories! Your body will end up burning just as much muscle as fat and that's not good. Keep your daily deficit 500-1000 calories. The deeper the deficit the more important protein is to spare your muscle. If you are in a 1000 calorie daily deficit you really should be getting a minimum of 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

At the end of the day it really is calories in vs calories out, theres no magic foods you eat that make you lose weight. The main reason a cleaner diet is better is because it really helps your energy levels and fills you up better which makes it easier to hit your calorie goal. A meal from mcdonalds wont kill you but it may take up half of your daily calories.

Anyone else still doing this? :P

I started last night. I made it through the first part of Chest & Back just fine, thought it was going to be easy. Then by the end of the DVD I could barely even do one push-up.

I was so tired I literally didn't have the energy left to do more than four of the Ab Ripper work outs. Those guys on the DVDs are insane. :o

Feels good though, going to keep going even though I am sore as hell this morning.

Yeah with many of the workouts you feel great in the beginning and then can barely finish. Have to try to pace yourself and not go so hard in the beginning. Ab Ripper kills me.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re-started yesterday after being really sick for three weeks. Very sore today.

Plyo will ruin your world though going through it the first time.

I am just coming off of a lot of little injuries. I had a dislocated pinky, pulled my groin, had shin splints and had some back issues... These all came from basketball, which I usually play to stay in shape.

So I haven't played basketball in about two to three months now, I also haven't got to do any cardio.

I just went through plyo about 45 minutes ago and I had to stop with about 15-20 minutes left. I almost yacked... That workout is insane.

Even though I feel like total **** right now, I can't wait to get back and try it again. I hate failing at things like that. :D

I'm using the lack of sleep that comes with parenthood as an excuse not to work out. It's kinda dumb though as I'll just get my ass kicked when I go back to boxing training. :(

Ok guys, I hope you are all still working out, whether it's P90X or something else. December is a tough time with the holidays but there are no excuses in January.

I'm still going strong, but not on P90X.

My recommended daily calorie intake is about 2300-2400. Right now I'm taking in 3000-3500 with high protein, carbs and 'good fats'.

Then I'm doing this 3 times a week with the heaviest weight I can stand to use:

5x Push-ups Maximum Reps
1x Calf Raises 30 in Each Direction (Toes Out, Toes Forward, Toes Inward)
3x Dumbell Row 10-16 Reps
2x Squats 10-16 Reps
5x Military Press 4-8 Reps
2x Lunges 10-16 Reps
3x Upright Row 5-10 Reps
5x Tricep Dip Maximim Reps
1x Wall Squats Until Failure - Move Up and Down Wall, Adjust Position
Ab Ripper X

Going to put on weight/muscle doing that. Then I think I'm going to do some boxing training with a friend of mine who did some amateur stuff in college to trim off the fat I add during the process. :D

Went to the WAC last night and there were no parking spots.

The NY gym rush has begun

Let's see how many are still there in February.

I start 2 basketball leagues next week so it's time to start moving again.

Already got rid of the 5lbs I gained over Thanksgiving/December, now gotta keep going.

I'm not doing p90x six days a week anymore, but I'm still getting some exercise. I fell right off the map when it came to my health in late November and December. Thanksgiving, five birthdays, Christmas, New Years, Rose Bowl and Packer parties...it's been **** awful. This week I finally got back to eating healthy and it's been tougher than it was back in September and October. Picked up some bad habits I'm gonna have to break all over again.

Now is a crazy time to be going to gym. They all run New Years specials and tons of people join. By the end of Feb most of the newbies quit. Over the past few months I've been mixing in P90X+ and Tony's One on One workouts with the original X to keep things fresh. But this week I started a new round of just plain X. And I'm going to do it as hard as I possibly can. Push, push, push. I have all my sheets from when I first did it in 2009. It's amazing how far I've come with the strength stuff. And with cardio. I'm doing Plyo more like Dom and less like Pam :) Yoga still sucks though.

I can't really do P90X because I don't have a pull-up bar. The ones you can buy for your doors don't fit on my apartment door frames. :( I absolutely HATE the band things, I just cannot get over that it looks like it's going to unhinge and smash me in the face.

Insanity Cardio is something I wouldn't recommend for most people. I tried that when I was slimming down a bit... That's just too much plyo. If you have any sort of knee or leg problems in general, don't even try it. I have played basketball for 3-4 times a week for most of my life... My knees hurt so bad after about three days of the Insanity workout that I had to stop. That's way, way too much plyo.

I initially used the bands when I started as I didn't have a good pullup bar. They certainly aren't as good as a bar but they do work, especially the thicker ones, blue and black. I never had a problem with them coming off the door but I did have a handle come off one time and the band hit me in the hand. Painful. I've never used the bands instead of the weights.

Yeah.

Next time I have a pull-up bar available at home, I think I'm going to do P90X all of the way through. It just didn't seem like it was worth it without it. :D

Was sticking pretty well with the weightlifting portions of it, but six days a week around the holidays with my daughter and everything else was too much, kind of fell off a bit. Right now I'm doing the lifting portions still and using basketball (Fri/Tue/Sun) as my cardio.
