I wouldn't, but there's definitely going to be a debate in the next five years between Giannis/Simmons/Embiid as the best player in the league.

Clear no to Simmons. Embiid I'm close to 50-50 on, leaning towards yes? If Giannis ever becomes a decent to good shooter it's him. But otherwise it's probably Embiid imo.

You get a pass from me for the next week and that's only for his jump shot. The plus minus bulls.h.it are still on the roast menu even if you took a pilgrimage to Giannis' old greek neighbourhood.

The Giannis Greek Homer Church is very strict on its rules.

For more information you can ask Archbishop Magic Giannison.

Embiid is a tough one. I'll add that Embiid is more likely to chase the spotlight than Giannis, and you can make an argument that he'd be more likely to bolt for a bigger city than Giannis.

Simmons is an interesting discussion. Already putting up 18/9/8 within his first 14 games as a professional. However, he's only attempted 7 threes and has made zero. If he actually adds that type of shot to his game, he'll be absolutely spectacular.

Right now, Giannis is obviously a significant upgrade on Simmons. But as Simmons develops, the margin between the two will shrink even as Giannis continues to improve. Giannis will probably always be a better defensive player than Ben Simmons, simply because of his length. Simmons might become a more diverse and influential offensive player overall.

I'd think long and hard over Simmons. I love the way he can run an offense despite not having the jump shot like Giannis. Might come down to circumstances and who they have around them.

+/- is only bad because it came across as a negative towards Giannis. The team actually sucks without him right now so yay!?!?!

If you had made a poll in 2015 about trading Jabari for, whatever, say CJ McCollum it would've been 200-0 even though that would've been a good trade then and a great trade now.

I don't think everyone here can be accused of being a homer. And we all know it would have been 200-1. 8-)

I could see Simmons ending up better but there are more question marks imo. His aggression as a scorer, and I don't think he's as "freakish" a finisher at the rim. And defense obviously. Simmons is an amazing 2nd fiddle to Embiid but I'm curious how he'd do as the sole star player on a team. Imagine Giannis alongside a beast like Embiid.

Embiid just has limitless upside. He could be a stronger Gobert defensively + most skilled scoring C in the game. He could average 30 while single handedly shutting down the paint. He's still rough offensively in ways but most of it is experience based, dude has played 43 games and started competitive ball in 2011. It's ridiculous how good he already is.

The big market stuff is legit though, I think he would hate it here.

Maybe not quite this, but I'd love to see the predraft threads again. A lot of people were talking about how Giannis would be the AK-47 type and they would need Jabari's scoring to complement him, whereas I was absolutely adamant that Giannis would be just as effective a scorer as Jabari if not better. It was a big part of why I wanted to trade Jabari for Favors/#5 and why I kept saying "Jabari needs Giannis but Giannis doesn't need Jabari" throughout all those arguments. I said many times that all they needed was to surround Giannis with 3-and-d guys because he would be such a matchup nightmare that it wouldn't even matter if he never had the mythical "pure scoring polish" that Jabari had.

Now with Bledsoe instead of more Delly or GPII or whoever else Kidd was using previously the bench is more playable in the extra minutes Giannis is playing when the starters are resting. The foul trouble also helped.
In normal circumstances Giannis would have near the same or worse +/- with the other starters.

It's Kidd's stupid rotation, his inability as a coach even when he has to take a timeout to stop a barrage of 3s and our depth as a team that usually hurt our starters +/- and Giannis especially since he plays more than everyone else. It's not their fault and Middleton or Giannis or Brogdon etc are not more valuable than they really because of their +/- numbers.

Yep. "Pretty much". I don't think I am too much either but I'll get caught up once in a while too.

It would have been 200-2. Hell I remember people were reluctant to trade Henson for CJ. Honestly.

I'm assuming this means you didn't watch Wiggins in college. Why would you have traded for someone if you'd never seen them play?

If you actually did watch him play in college, then what you're saying is even more baffling.

I've refused to vote on the poll for this very reason. However wheres this CJ v Parker one. I know I'd have voted CJ all along. I'm one of the few crazies who thinks cj is better than dame and its not close.
